The Berthon apprentices are currently restoring a West Solent One Design (RIPPLE) as an educational project on behalf of Boatyard owner Brian May. With the laminated frames in the mid ship section now in place, bronze fabricated plate floors have been fitted, tying the two halves of the boat together along the centre line. The stern post, stern knee and rudder box have been removed, with the new stern post and and stern knee having been made and later installed. Big news: my new sails arrived and I mounted them this week. They look great and I can't wait to take KARL out...but before that I planned to take the boat out of the water to check the bottom, renew antifouling and change to the new depthsounder, which has a wider diameter than the old one. And sometimes it seams that there is always something going wrong with KARL. Three bolts of one of the engine mounts broke and are now stuck inside the engine...and: the haulout did not work out in Panamarina because the trailer could not work KARL's twinkeels :(. Durante una visita di gruppo a casa Leopardi, ho riscontrato tra i presenti due opinioni diverse sul poeta: un Giacomo Leopardi "Poeta Eccellente e Filosofo"; e per chi ha il senso dell'umorismo, un Leopardi preso in giro per il suo pessimismo non solo da gente comune ma anche da intellettuali. Spero che gli amanti del poeta non disdegnino questo video.
