Über die Osterfeiertage haben wir fünf Jungs einen Caddy geliehen bekommen. Völlig ohne Plan sind wir einfach Richtung Meer gefahren, und haben an den schönsten Plätzen übernachtet! Mit Tim (18), Tom (16), Michi (16), Vincent (15) & Henrik (15) Angefangen zu Filmen haben wir am ersten Morgen, nachdem wir am Ufer des Gardasees übernachtet hatten. Dann ging es weiter in die Nähe Genuas. Nach einer Nacht dort fuhren wir nach Portofino, dort angelangt mussten wir feststellen, dass Portofino sehr touristisch und teuer ist. Auf der Suche nach einem Schlafplatz kletterten wir auf einen Felsen neben der Bucht und übernachteten am schönsten Ort! Am nächsten Tag fuhren wir mit einem Zwischenstopp am Gardasee nach Hause, da Regen angesagt war. Wie fühlt es sich an, auf nur 28Fuss mit der Familie im Mittelmeer unterwegs zu sein? Dieser Film zeigt es! Mit meiner Frau Annette und Sohn Tim bin ich seit 2008 auf einer Etap 28i im Tyrrhenischen Meer unterwegs. Allerdings anders, als man es erwarten würde. 8 Jahre davon erzählt dieser Film. Annette leidet stark unter der Seekrankheit und nutzt einen der Törns für einen Selbstversuch. Mit Erfolg! Sohn Tim findet sich schon in jüngsten Jahren bestens auf den 28 Fuß der „Abyss“ zu Recht. Und 2013 gesellt sich auch noch Bordhund Jackie dazu und bereichert den Film tierisch. Während der jeweiligen Törns werden die angelaufenen Inseln per „Steckbrief“ vorgestellt. Häfen werden fast immer gemieden. In den 8 Jahren Segeln bzw. 5000sm, die der Film widerspiegelt, gab es ganze 4 Hafentage! Bei den teilweise abenteuerlichen Exkursionen ist der Zuschauer immer hautnah mit dabei und erlebt vieles intensiv von einer neuen Seite. Hinzu kommen die Erfahrungen, die wir in den 8 Jahren Segeln mit seiner Etap 28i im Tyrrhenischen Meer gesammelt haben. Auch die Wartungs- bzw. Umbau Arbeiten, die jeden Winter an der "Abyss" vorgenommen wurden, kommen nicht zu kurz. Festgehalten wird das alles durch eindrucksvolle Bilder in Full-HD-Qualität und professionellen Schnitt, die dem Film eine besondere und sehr persönliche Note verleihen.
