Welcome to our channel. We are family with special needs kids who like to hang out with some great friends. My best friend, Denise, and I just turned 40', and we have decided to find 40 fun things to do in Southern California with our kids in tow. Keep checking back for more So Cal adventures. Episode 12 is our second adventure in Los Angeles after eating at Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles. With tummies full, we drove over to the LACMA /La Brea Tar Pits complex. This was my first time to these two Museums. We had planned this day of the month to be able to enter both Museums free as we weren't sure how Anthony and Justin (who both have Autism) would manage. Do to misunderstanding the LACMA website... we were not allowed to enter free because we were not LA residents. This was perplexing to me that the Tar Pits, Page Museum, would allow all people in free but the LACMA would only allow LA residents in for free. ... These two Museums were on the same grounds. It was also disappointing that the attendant at the LACMA ticket booth did not offer or know of any programs for people with "Special Needs" even after we asked. Later, in reading the website again,... we learned that a Professional Personal Care Attendant can enter free. What is a Professional PCA? Is that different than a Mom that functions as a PCA? We decided to settle for exploring the LACMA grounds only to have Justin attempt to touch a sculpture after not seeing the "DO NOT TOUCH" sign. The security guard reprimanded him ... which he does not handle well and put him in a emotional melt down.. This is something we have been working on his whole life with countless hours of ABA therapy. This was a good lesson for him about Museum etiquette. Taking my family out into the world is very important to me. I want to prepare them for various types of structured and unstructured encounters that Neurotypical people enjoy every day. This is my work-in-progress mission. I hope someday we can try again arrange a successful trip to the LACMA. The boat is constructed of exterior quality plywood, sealed with epooxy and sheathed in glass fibre and epoxy. One of the great beauties of these boats is that the ballast keel is fitted towards the end of the build, enabling the boat to be kept lower in the shed for most of the construction time. The keel and rudder are fitted shortly before launch. Thank you! Tony

In this episode of our sailing vlog, it's full on with some strong winds that catch a lot of people out and cause several boats to drag and crash. This is a notorious wind system known as the Mistrel that comes off of the south of France and regularly blows 40+ knots. The Mistrel is definitely something to watch out for! After Ryan helps a fellow sailor who's anchor drags, we sit out the wind for a couple of sleepless days and nights until the Mistrel clears and we can finally leave to sail over to Sardinia. Fourth time lucky!! We have a pretty non-eventful sail, have some nice winds, make full use of all three of our sails and only have to run the motor for around 30 minutes - we HATE having the motor on. It's noisy, burns diesel and ruins the tranquility that is sailing. We get to our destination, Sardina, and the first thing we see if a flock of flamingos flying over the boat - wow! Faye gets extremely excited about this, as well as finally making it across, and we anchor in a stunning little bay with crystal clear waters. If you're arriving to the Abacos from Eleuthera, there's an excellent chance that you're first stop will be Little Harbour. It's small, excellently sheltered harbor is home to Pete's Pub and Gallery - one of the most well-known restaurants and businesses in the Bahamas. Initially we were planning to anchor just outside of Little Harbour because we wanted to avoid the using the mooring balls, but we were driven inside by very rolly conditions in the outer anchorage. We reluctantly entered the harbor and successfully tied up to our very first mooring ball. We're very glad that we decided to stay inside Little Harbour. It's a very neat place. It's so tucked away and quaint. It was a real pleasure to simply row the dinghy to shore instead of having to bother with the outboard motor.
