Led by Skipper Nic and crew, our guests did it all! A spot of target shooting with our target "Lee the duck" getting off lightly with zero hits. Sunset fishing was glorious, and super fresh sashimi made and served. Everyone woke up to a stunning morning and the sun beaming on The Rock. The Penguin Dance loosened the limbs before our guests took the plunge and went for a snorkel. Kina (sea urchin) were collected, a sting ray was also spotted cruising around. Back on board and changed the group then headed to visit Waewaetorea Island. You cannot fault the stunning views of the Bay from the top! As we cruised back in to Paihia, our guests reminisced on a wonderful cruise. Video credit: Arthur Maclean https://www.rocktheboat.co.nz/

We are celebrating 2 years Afloat on 'Double Trouble'. We put together this short video, mainly to remind ourselves about what we have achieved in such a short time. The time has flown by . It's been an amazing adventure so far and we couldn't be more excited about what's to come. There's footage from when we took delivery of DT in Sydney up until our last crossing to New Zealand this year. As our YouTube episodes run about 6 months behind ,there are a lot of sneak previews of our time in Tonga and Fiji. We hope you enjoy it . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ☕️ Want to Buy us a Coffee? We are Jo and Rob, a slightly crazy husband and wife team, who decided on a whim to sell up and set sail . We had no prior sailing experience when we bought out 40ft catamaran 'Double Trouble' , but hey, mere details right? We moved onboard in January 2017 and have been learning ever since. We love our life , both on and under the oceans. We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment ,so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. No fishing rods for us . Join us for fun and games as we set off around the world at walking pace. 👏Credits: Thanks to 'Shure ' microphones for voiceover sound. 🎼Music: DT Theme tune - 'Happy' by MBB https://soundcloud.com/mbbofficial Creative Commons — Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported — CC BY-SA 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b... Welcome to the next step in my solo sailing adventure! Finally bought a boat and will be working to bring her back to life so I can sail Puget Sound, Canada and to Alaska someday!
I started out thinking I eould just replace the DC electrical panel on my boat only to find out that the previous owner(s) had made a huge mess of it leaving many of the circuits unprotecred and thus, it will all be coming out and completely re-done!

I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

I have not seen a beach like this in a long time! Marina Mindelo was busy with ARC sailors before sailing across the Atlantic. So we decided to get away and get a taste of real Africa just a few minutes walk from the marina. Later we get out of the city, and just a twenty minute ride away we set foot on vast golden sand beach and barely anyone in sight. Then we set forth to see the light. provisioning for the Bahamas | 40 | Beau and Brandy Sailing we're getting close to leaving! but first we need to stock up on some food and power. the anchorage we originally get to has way too much wake, so we move further south just outside west palm. our friend jim joins us but needs a little help at the very end. beau finally has a reason to adjust the solar panels to soak up more sun. we get a bunch of food and explain our eating habbits. hope you enjoy! big love, beau, brandy, and our salty dog, oona patreon: https://www.patreon.com/beauandbrandy facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingsaoirse instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beauandbrandy music: bright oceans - smartface bunny hop - dylan sitts incidental encounter 3 - gavin luke
Took our sailboat down the East River, New York City, and down the New Jersey Coast to Atlantic City. Then came that hail/snow storm that came through earlier this year which brought heavy winds and rain to Atlantic City. Thankfully we had the casino to seek shelter in and off the cold boat, which also had a great place to sit, coffee and the best wifi of anywhere we have been. Helped us get some videos online that's for sure! Mengi Yay are one of Turkey's most historic yacht builders. A family owned business, they have transitioned from building small rowing boats to larger wooden gulets, and now have established themselves as producers of some sizeable superyachts. This, the first in a series of three sponsored videos, introduces you to the company.

Our Trans-Atlantic voyage is approaching the end! We pick up this video on Day 18, after we get the news that our friends on s/v Calico Skies are arriving in Horta, while we still have 700 miles left and can expect winds on the nose for the next 72 hours. After plugging through those, we go back to our sunny and calm days and while spending a little time outside get the opportunity to see some sea life in the water. Huge groups of sea salp are floating next to our boat, and we even put the GoPro in the water to get a better look. While we're stuck in what we hope is the last of our high pressure systems, we throw up our drifter to see how it works in place of a spinnaker. At over 40 years old we weren't sure what to expect with this sail, but it did a great job of giving us a little extra oomph! Then...there's landfall! The day we had been waiting to see for such a long time! Even though we had a fantastic crossing and loved our time at sea, we were more than ready to dock in Horta and begin enjoying the wonderful Azores again. Much love from the Atlantic Ocean! WE have finally reached the end of the three months living out of our truck and on the road. The final push took us from Wyoming to Florida, but with a few pit stops in between. Come with us as we venture out from the West to the East Coast. Leaving Yellowstone National Park straight to Chicago, up into Canada through Toronto and Montreal, and down the East Coast just in time for the fall colors and final cool chill before making our way to Florida and off to the big transition from land to sea. It was long adventure but certainly a good way to send ourselves off and out of the US. A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed us into their homes and gave a place to lay our traveling heads as we explored the Great American lands.
