In this episode I cross the great Bahama bank in an attempt to escape incoming weather. I sail to Bimini then back to the USA where the CBP search my vessel with dogs
We leave Miri and sail to Pulau Tiga, better known as Survivor Island. Famous for its bubbling mud volcanoes, we cover ourselves head to toe in cool-to-the-touch, mineral-rich mud. It takes a little encouragement for the girls to get in — but once they do, it turns into an unforgettable (and very messy!) experience. After washing off, we snorkel the vibrant coral reef while park rangers keep watch overhead with a surveillance drone — monitoring the area for the island’s resident crocodile. It definitely adds an edge to the swim! We then hop across to nearby Lovely Paradise Island, where pure white sand and crystal-clear water create a true tropical postcard scene — best admired from the island’s quirky pool table overlooking the beach. Finally, we set sail toward Kota Kinabalu, and manage to hook a fish along the way, rounding out another unforgettable adventure in Malaysian Borneo. Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370! Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way. Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea. We hope to inspire you, just as we were inspired by other YouTube channels, to chase your dreams and explore the wonders of this beautiful world. Join us on our journey, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more sailing adventures! #seawind1370 #seawindcats #sailing #sailingboat #sailingyacht #yacht #yachting #yachtinglifestyle #cruisinglife #boatlaunch

We have had a lot going on here at the boatyard. With having to revamp the roof due to the new building inspector in town, to getting the new thicknesser up and running, to getting the last oak planks on the boat before we leave for Costa Rica. We manage to get most of that done. In order to accomplish all this though, we have to go through some of the steps. One of which is getting the trusses made for the new roof. Not an easy task in the middle of winter in New England! With all of this going on, we still had to work on the oak plank we started to hang because we can't leave it sitting while we are gone in Costa Rica for two weeks. So, Alix, Keira and Steve go through the usual process of getting the plank on and off the boat over and over again in order to get it to fit. Which, also includes a bit more steaming to get the most curvy parts to fit properly. With all that done... there's nothing stopping us from tearing old roof off the boathouse... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acorn to Arabella wishlist: http://www.acorntoarabella.com/acorn-to-arabella-wishlist Jamestown Distributors Referral: If you are going to shop at Jamestown Distributors, please consider using our Total Boat referral code: http://totalboat.refr.cc/steveandalixa?t=tg FOLLOW US: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/acorntoarabella Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/acorntoarabella/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/acorntoarabella Website: http://www.acorntoarabella.com

Our failed attempt at escape proved to be more dangerous than we ever expected. We made it back safe, but not without a few battle scars. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch. Bringing Yabá from wreck to dreamy! Episode 79 In this episode we build our aft salon benches with a small change in the previous design, as now we put loads of effort into creating a waterproof base! We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the works needed were a lot more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way.
