In this video I show how EV chargers (often called wallboxes) communicate with the car using the Control Pilot signal. We look at the PWM signal, duty cycle, resistor states (A/B/C) and the diode safety check that tells the charger it’s really connected to a vehicle. To demonstrate this, I built a simple DIY EV charger tester that simulates a car so you can safely observe the charging handshake on an oscilloscope. There's something really nice about an early morning boat ride, when the sun is shining and the winds are low. Located Right next to Beusoleil, the Gin Islands are just two of 63 islands that make up the Georgian Bay Islands National Park. Well known to Aboriginal peoples as a bad weather refuge and stopping place, Beausoleil was used as a base for hunting and trading as far back as 7,000 years ago! Early voyageurs marked it as a midpoint on their travels between the Severn River and north Georgian Bay. Today it's a great recreational boating destination, with incredible views. Just be careful getting in. As always on Georgian Bay, there are plenty of rocks around!

Solche Maßstäbe sind in Europa unvorstellbar. ▬ ÜBER DIESEN FILM ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Der so genannte „Grain Belt“ zieht sich von West Australia über South Australia bis hin nach New South Wales. Hier werden Weizen, Gerste und Hafer in unfassbaren Mengen angebaut. Der Großteil der jährlichen Ernte wird weltweit im Wesentlichen nach Asien, Nordafrika aber auch nach Europa exportiert. Ein logistischer Bestandteil sind riesige Siloanlagen, die entweder verteilt in den Feldern oder an wichtigen logistischen Knotenpunkten zu finden sind. Von diesen Siloanlagen starten hier in South Australia die berüchtigten Roadtrains zu den Tiefwasserhäfen in Adelaide, Port Lincoln und ganz neu in Port of Narrunga. Diese über 50m langen Lastwagen mit bis zu 5 Anhängern können, nicht abbremsen, nicht ausweichen, nicht manövrieren. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr 2020 erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben passte als in meins. In den folgenden 6 Monaten hat Brigitta aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich über unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Insgesamt sind wir aktuell 4 ½ Jahre unterwegs. Ein Abenteuer folgt dem nächsten und wir genießen jeden Tag aufs Neue. Auf der Suche nach Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit, Abenteuerlust und Naturverbundenheit segeln wir - Brigitta und Hannes - gemeinsam um die Welt. Für diese Weltumsegelung haben wir uns den Katamaran Lagoon 40 MariaNoa gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März 2021 von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind. In this video I show how to take a small engine that won't start and fix it. I found a broken pressure washer for free at the dump and demonstrate how to get it running. I discuss the Otto Cycle (Intake, Compression, Expansion, Exhaust), or Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow and how the fire triangle (Fuel, Oxygen, Ignition) relate to small engines. Fuel is the gasoline, Oxygen is compression, and Ignition is the spark. I show how to test each one of these requirements with multiple methods. I demonstrate checking compression by pull start and how to use a compression test gauge. I show how to test spark the old school way as well as with a commercial tester. Then, I show how to clean fuel lines, fuel pickups, and the carburetor. I also discuss small engine best care practices for storage. Like shutting off the fuel valve and letting the carb run dry. Finally, I show the pressure washer fully repaired and sell it for a $100 profit.
