Hautnah seid Ihr mit dabei, wenn es Einhand quer über das Tyrrhenische Meer geht. Nonstop 200sm von Rom/Fiumicino nach Ustica und zurück. Dort stößt die Familie dazu und es geht gemeinsam weiter nach Marettimo. Wie schon in den Jahren zuvor bleiben wir unserem Motto treu: Naturverbunden, autark und fernab der Massen unterwegs zu sein. So wird wieder in einsamen Buchten geankert, Einkäufe und Exkursionen werden mit dem Beiboot „Oma“ erledigt. Häfen werden wie immer bei uns gemieden. Seit diesem Törn ist sogar ein Tauchkompressor an Bord und verspricht aufregende Tauchgänge! Sohn Tim, inzwischen ein halbstarker, ist auch wieder mit dabei. Eigentlich filtert unser Briefkasten Unnötiges konsequent aus, doch ein bunter Prospekt hatte die „Anti-Werbe-Klappe“ mit einem geschickten Manöver überwunden. „Exklusive Studienreise – Rhodos und Ägäis“ stand da. Normalerweise mache ich um Pauschalreisen einen Bogen, aber bei der Aussicht auf vier UNESCO-Welterbestätten und zwei antike Weltwunder wurde ich schwach. Der Prospekt flog also nicht in den Müll, sondern wir in den Süden. Der Film dokumentiert die Reise eines bunten Haufens Unbekannter an der Seite ihres fachkundigen Guides Sedat. Anfang November, als sich Rhodos und die Ägäis bereits in den Wintermodus geschaltet hatten, wandelten wir auf den Spuren der Kreuzritter im Großmeisterpalast und erklommen die geschichtsträchtige Akropolis von Lindos. Die Route führte uns weiter über das türkische Taurusgebirge zu den monumentalen Ruinen von Aphrodisias und Artemis, bevor wir die Reise individuell auf Rhodos ausklingen ließen.
