Buona visione, Gegio 🌊 Peace. Love. Sea. Koa e Kea is a Philippe Briand design, built in the Marc Pinta yard in La Rochelle France. The hull is strengthened by 1” of Airex high density closed cell foam. The yacht was purchased in Tunisia, and brought to Malta for a $1.4M spare-no-expense refit. Philippe Briand redesigned the cabin top and salon, increasing headroom and luxury while also strengthening the hull. The interior was built using Artkonboard, a lightweight cored panel material, with attention to keeping the boat light. It is covered in teak or sycamore venee sourced from a single, hand selected Burmese log. Everything installed on the yacht was selected of the highest quality, from the Antal rigging to the Villeroy & Bach sink. Relaunched in October 2013, Koa E Kea sailed extensively in the Med, where it was not uncommon to cruise at 10-12 knots on a reach with only the genoa set. Flat and relaxing in the cockpit, with the board up she sails through waters one meter deep! Drop the daggerboard and raise the main, and she can point as high as 30 degrees with speeds in the high teens! On deck, she was designed to be handled from the cockpit with single line reefing in the main, all headsails on roller furlers, and an electric winch to make it easy. The salon table is a small oval cocktail type which turns and splits to accept two leaves, becoming a dining table for four. With a push of a button, the table drops on its electrical pedestal to disappear under the sole. The interior space was designed to be organic, no corners, all round shapes and curves. There are 3 Fusion stereos connected to 17 speakers. The salon has 4 speakers and a subwoofer for listening to music, and another 4 speakers and a sub for watching movies. The cockpit features two speakers, and the aft cabin has 4 speakers and subwoofer. The cockpit pillows are covered with a $265/yard Sunbrella leopard print, no expense was spared! The boat comes with many spare parts, tools, and accessories. Spares include a high pressure water pump for the 190L/hr watermaker, autopilot actuator, and 2 Brompton folding bicycles. This trimaran has a new sails: fully batten main, jib, and genoa. The boat is ready to go, worldwide, owner is offering delivery at $2/nm plus expenses. Now that the wind has subsided we are heading back to Fort Matanzas to get out of the ocean swell. You may see the nav program drift, that is because it is not connected to AIS, it is a secondary program and it cannot be connected to both AIS and OBS. Rest assured my main nav program, that I'll be using for navigation, is connected to AIS.

MAKAI Power Catamarans is a modern, innovative brand in the luxury boating world focused on designing and building high-performance power catamarans that combine elegance, comfort, and superior sea-going capabilities. Founded by a team of industry veterans with decades of experience, the company has quickly made a name for itself by addressing a growing market demand for multihulls that offer more space and efficiency than traditional monohulls, without sacrificing performance or style. Italian designer Emanuele Rossi contributed to the brand’s distinctive aesthetic, which draws inspiration from classic sports cars to create sleek, athletic lines and cutting-edge hull shapes. Makai’s debut model, the M37, is a flagship example of this ethos. At around 37 feet in length, it blends spacious luxury with thoughtful engineering: dual cabins with ensuite heads, generous cockpit and salon areas, and innovative features like the Air-Glide shock-absorbing hull design that enhances comfort and fuel efficiency. The M37’s semi-asymmetric hull gives it surprisingly high performance for its class, with some configurations capable of speeds approaching those of much larger vessels while maintaining stable, smooth rides in varied conditions. Building on that success, Makai has expanded its line with models like the M42, which emphasizes all-season cruising comfort with an enclosed saloon, generous galley, and optional flybridge — ideal for longer voyages and diverse climates. Across its fleet, Makai places a strong emphasis on fuel efficiency, onboard comfort, and practical usability, making power catamarans accessible for both experienced boaters and newcomers. By positioning production in Croatia and leveraging a global dealer network, the company aims to bring its blend of performance and elegance to cruising enthusiasts around the world. ⭐ Review freut mich: https://g.page/r/CQySfhOwK2teEB0/review #segeln #ankern #skipper #knoten #prusik #palstek #ankerwinsch #segeltraining #sporedo

The likeable Erickson chats about his influence on bringing professional sailing respect as a life's calling and he opines about the current state of the America's Cup off-season.........Lake Michigan Off-Shore Racing chairman Terry Kuehn stops by to discuss international sailing boundaries and how the Yacht Racing Union of the Great Lakes is trying to peek its head about the water to regain some notoriety after a long public absence. Stay tuned for a great interview with Steve and Terry.
I spent the last year in California. in this video I show some of the methodology used to organize a mooring field. After the season ended I worked on selling some art in wintertime, then I was hired to help move a 42ft sailboat from San Diego to Oxnard. San Diego is my home town (although I rarely stay there for more than a few months a year) so this was a longer stay than I would usually do.
The largest class in the 2026 RORC Caribbean 600 was IRC Two and it proved to be a battle of stamina and steady execution with as much as five days and nights of trade wind racing for the class and highly competitive pressure among the front runners. Richard Dilley’s Grand Soleil 46 Belladonna (GBR) claimed IRC Two victory, completing the 600-mile course in 3 days 06 hours 37 minutes 55 seconds elapsed. Ray Rhinelander’s J/133 Bella J (CAN), skippered by Sarah Nicholson pushed hard throughout to come second. Third place after IRC time correction went to Cox & Dunlop’s J/122 Mojito (GBR). In true RORC Caribbean 600 fashion, IRC Two rewarded consistency, smart positioning and relentless focus and sustained offshore discipline. For Belladonna owner Richard Dilley, victory in IRC Two was far more than a line in the results. It was the fulfilment of a long-held ambition to compete in the RORC Caribbean 600. “For me, it’s kind of a lifetime achievement really, to come out here and race in these amazing waters,” Dilley says, emotion close to the surface. “I can’t put into words how amazing it is. I’ve always wanted to come out here and race.” #Caribbean600 #RORCracing

Ready to master anchoring check out the NauticEd anchoring course - https://www.nauticed.org/sailing-courses/view/anchoring-a-sailboat?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=m0XRjy5ot9g Check out IMTRA the windlass experts - https://www.imtra.com Choosing the wrong rope for your anchor windlass is not just inconvenient — it can leave you unable to retrieve your ground tackle. This video breaks down the two most common rope types used with windlasses and exactly when to use each one. What this video covers: - Why three strand nylon is the most commonly used windlass rope and what makes its stretch characteristics an advantage - Why three strand rope holds its diameter under load, which keeps the chain wheel able to bite consistently - What plaited rope is, how it flakes cleanly into an anchor locker, and why it is the better choice for small vessels - The critical disadvantage of plaited rope on larger boats: excessive weight forward causes the rope to elongate, shrink in diameter, and lose its grip on the chain wheel - How anchor weight, chain length, and rope type interact — and why heavy anchors with long chain runs demand three strand rope The wrong rope does not fail dramatically. It simply stops working when you need it most. Understanding the difference between these two rope types before you buy is one of the most practical decisions you can make for your anchoring system.
