O evento contou com uma programação repleta de palestras inspiradoras voltadas aos velejadores, abordando desde técnicas de navegação até histórias de grandes travessias. À noite, o clima era de celebração, com muitos shows ao vivo que animaram a marina e reuniram tripulações de todo o Brasil e de outros países. A organização e a recepção foram impecáveis — tudo muito bem preparado para acolher quem chega do mar e para quem está prestes a zarpar nessa grande aventura. Durante esses dias também tivemos um momento emocionante: a despedida da minha mãe, que veio nos visitar por alguns dias e encheu o barco de carinho e boas risadas. Foi difícil dar tchau, mas ficamos muito felizes por termos compartilhado esse tempo juntos. Enquanto isso, seguimos na nossa saga de tentar consertar o gerador, que continua nos dando trabalho. Cada tentativa é uma nova aprendizagem a bordo, e assim seguimos ajustando tudo para garantir que o barco esteja 100% para as próximas navegações. 🎙️ Testo video – Elica di poppa: come funziona e perché è indispensabile per manovrare "Se hai una barca, soprattutto con un motore singolo e un’elica sola, saprai quanto può essere complicato muoversi lateralmente, cioè spostarsi a destra o a sinistra in porto. In queste situazioni, un’elica sola non basta. Ed è qui che entra in gioco l’elica di poppa. L’elica di poppa è montata trasversalmente proprio sullo specchio di poppa della barca, e ti permette di spingere la poppa verso destra o sinistra, quando serve. È uno strumento fondamentale per chi vuole manovrare in spazi stretti, correggere manovre sbagliate all’ultimo secondo o semplicemente avere il pieno controllo dell’imbarcazione. Se la usi insieme all’elica di prua, puoi letteralmente far muovere la barca in qualsiasi direzione, con la massima precisione e senza stress — anche in condizioni difficili, come vento o corrente. Light winds allow us to set the gennaker again and again, and we never have to take it down because of strong winds. Only at night is it stowed away for safety reasons. We arrive in La Graciosa at the beautiful anchorage “Playa Francesa,” as have several other sailors who arrived before us. We find a good spot and enjoy this wonderful island, which I can show you with impressive pictures from the air. Ghio, Spanu and Manowiecki seal titles on Finals Day in Jeri - Mathis Ghio and Maddalena Spanu have been crowned 2025 World Cup champions. It’s the fourth successive title for the Frenchman who has been the fleet’s dominant figure since the competition’s inception. For the 19 year old Italian, it tops off a year of remarkable success that’s also seen her become Formula Wing European and World Champion. She also won the Women’s title here in Jeri. So brechen wir auf nach Neukaledonien, welches zu Frankreich gehört und aus Dutzenden Inseln besteht. Die Hauptinsel Grand Terre ist bekannt für die artenreiche Lagune, die mit 24.000 km² zu den größten weltweit gehört. Wir gehen in einer abgelegenen Bucht vor Anker bevor wir am darauffolgenden Morgen zur Hauptstadt Nouméa verholen, um einzuklarieren. Neukaledonien hat einen vergleichbaren Lebensstandard wie Australien, Neuseeland oder Fidschi – Amtssprache ist Französisch. Wir nutzen das nächste Wetterfenster, um an die australische Ostküste überzusetzen und klarieren in Southport ein. Die Einklarierungsregeln in Australien sind berüchtigt. Wir haben aber Glück: die Beamten von Immigration und Customs sowie Biosecurity sind ausgesprochen freundlich und kompetent. Wir haben uns schweren Herzens entschieden hier in Australien unsere Reise zu beenden und MariaNoa zu verkaufen. Hierfür muss MariaNoa nach Australien importiert werden. Brigitta war natürlich vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben passte als in meins. In den folgenden 6 Monaten hat Brigitta aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich über unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Segeln fühlt sich oft nach Freiheit an. Aber diese Freiheit bringt Verantwortung mit sich. Und genau dort kommen Versicherungen ins Spiel. Nicht als lästiges Übel, sondern als Teil guter Seemannschaft. Clemens Stecher und Claus Aktoprak steigen bewusst ohne juristischen Anspruch ins Thema ein. Sie sind keine Versicherungsrechtler, sondern erfahrene Segler. Und genau aus dieser Perspektive sprechen sie über Situationen, in denen es sehr schnell sehr teuer werden kann. Anhand echter Erlebnisse – von kleinen Schäden bis zum Totalverlust einer Yacht – zeigen sie, wie schnell ein Moment der Unachtsamkeit existenzielle Folgen haben kann. Besonders deutlich wird das bei der Unterscheidung zwischen Fahrlässigkeit und grober Fahrlässigkeit. Dinge wie Auslaufen trotz Sturmwarnung, Nachtfahrt ohne ausreichende Wachsamkeit oder fehlende Sicherheitseinweisung können dazu führen, dass Versicherungen nicht mehr greifen. Ein zentrales Thema ist die Haftpflichtversicherung. Sie deckt Schäden an Dritten ab und sollte aus Sicht der Hosts für jeden Skipper selbstverständlich sein. Ergänzend dazu geht es um Kaskoversicherungen für Schäden am eigenen Boot, um Selbstbehalte bei Charteryachten und die Möglichkeit, diese gezielt abzusichern. Besonders komplex wird es bei Bergung und Abschleppen. Die Folge erklärt klar den Unterschied zwischen Schleppkosten und echten Bergekosten – inklusive der enormen finanziellen Risiken. In diesem Zusammenhang wird die Lloyd’s Open Form als wichtiges Instrument vorgestellt, um im Ernstfall Kosten zu begrenzen. Auch typische Versicherungslücken kommen zur Sprache. Regatten, Nachtfahrten, Ausbildungsfahrten, Revierbeschränkungen oder kommerzielle Nutzung sind häufige Ausschlussgründe. Ein Turn ist schneller kommerziell, als viele glauben – oft reicht schon ein geldwerter Vorteil. Sailing the Dominican Republic during the holidays is all about community, but the fuel issues in Luperon can quickly turn a "Secret Christmas" into a high-stakes mechanical nightmare. Between the holiday potlucks and the local traditions, we jumped in to help a friend pull a massive 30-gallon fuel tank that was threatening their ability to stay mobile as the bay starts to get rough. The expensive lesson was discovered at [00:17:45] when we realized the fuel hose wasn't reaching the supply, forcing a total extraction of Scott's tank. Without a crane or shop, we had to MacGyver a solution by stripping the bimini and using our main halyard to hoist the 30-gallon beast out of the bilge. It’s the ultimate liveaboard reality: one minute you're eating 8-day cured smoked ham, and the next you’re rigging your sail lines in the cockpit to save a friend's engine. The situation shifted from a holiday celebration to a critical threat at [00:18:33]. As the bay starts rocking, our friends are all reporting the same contaminated fuel failures. With the "teeter test" coming up next week, we are officially worried for the whole fleet—if these siphons don't clear the lines, nobody is making the weather window for Puerto Rico. L'orage nous a levé de la houle , vent de face et houle de face aussi a plus de 1m. On n'ira pas.
