But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to do... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on the boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons.  Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. There is now a shorten course and shorten finish added with PredictWind indicating winds dropping off as the crews turn to return to the finish. It's great to see so many join the record coastal sprint (category 3) fleet numbers and celebrate the return to ocean sailing. But before she was an offshore sailor, Carolijn was an incredibly accomplished dinghy sailor in the 470, Laser Radial, Europe and Tornado class, winning World Sailor of the Year in 1998 and racing in the Olympics in 2000, 2004 and 2008.
