Nick then attempted to share a presentation but encountered some technical difficulties, which he resolved by enabling his share settings. Chris, who was also on the call, shared that he was in Vermont and was in the process of building a trawler. The group expressed their excitement about the potential of AI in the marine world, with Nick set to demonstrate its applications. The meeting was recorded for those who couldn't attend. Machine Vision Enhances Situational Awareness Nick discussed the company's use of machine vision technology to enhance situational awareness at sea, complementing AIS and radar technologies. The company has over 600 systems in the field and a database of 18 million annotated marine objects. They are integrating with radar to control camera views and have tight integration with Time 0. The company offers various products, including the Cai Sentry for motor yachts, the Cai Offshore for blue water sailors, the SEA.ai Competition for ocean racing, and the SEA.ai Brain for running AI detections on 3rd party thermal cameras. The SEA.ai Sentry features electronic zoom, electronic and mechanical image stabilization, AI-based target tracking, intelligent alarms, and four key functions: object detection, target tracking, collision avoidance, and perimeter surveillance. The company's products can detect objects up to 7,500 meters away and require a minimum mounting height of 15 feet above the water surface. Mounting Height and System Integration Nick discussed the importance of mounting height for better accuracy and detection distance in their system. He showcased various demo clips, including daytime and nighttime views, auto tracking, and collision avoidance features. He also highlighted the ability to select distances for warning versus danger and the memory built into the camera for target tracking. Nick further explained the integration of radar with the pan tilt zoom, enabling visual verification and target classification. He also mentioned the ongoing validation of third-party cameras, including Flir and Axis, and the future integration of distance estimation into the system. AI Detections on Thermal Cameras Nick demonstrated the use of AI detections on a thermal camera, highlighting its ability to detect and classify various objects, including whales. He explained that the camera technology is old but has been innovated in the traditional CCTV industry, and they are bringing this technology to the marine industry. Nick also mentioned that they are working on integrating their product with other marine navigation tools like Proteus, which uses AI to display data from current systems. Chris and Captain discussed the potential of using the AI system for tracking long lines and recording incidents, with Nick confirming that the system can be integrated with onboard NVRs for extended recording. Vessel Surveillance System Specifications and Costs The team discussed the technical specifications and costs of a vessel surveillance system. Nick clarified that the system requires a 24V DC power supply and consumes 50-70 watts. He also mentioned that the system can be purchased through a dealer network in North and South America, with a lead time of 4-6 weeks. The cost of the system, including professional installation, was estimated at around $49,000 MSRP. Nick also mentioned that a lower-cost version of the system would be launched at the Palm Beach Boat Show. The team agreed to make the meeting recording available to the group and Nick offered a 5% discount for purchases made before the start of Q3.

Digital from Digital Yacht presented new concepts and products, including Nordlink, One Fix, and a new maneuverable product, and discussed the integration of various technologies into their maritime platform. Nick presented new products, including a GPS system, a man-overboard solution, and a synthetic position report, and offered a 20% discount for the " Posse" team. Next steps • Digital Yacht to launch new products at Dusseldorf Boat Show and Miami Boat Show in February. • Ocean Posse members to use coupon code "posse20" for 20% discount on Digital Yacht products. • Digital Yacht to make the Nord Cloud platform available for third-party app developers. • Captain to distribute the recorded meeting to Ocean Posse participants. • Digital Yacht to ensure the "posse20" coupon code is working on their websites by early next week. New Cloud Concepts and Feedback In the meeting, Digital from Digital Yacht presented some new concepts and ideas for the cloud, which had not yet been launched. The presentation was intended to gather feedback and ideas from the participants. Captain recorded the presentation and made it available to the participants. The presentation was expected to last around 15-20 minutes. Introducing Nordlink and New Products Digital introduced three new products: Nordlink, a gateway to connect boat data to the cloud; One Fix, a GPS product addressing signal interference issues; and a new manoverable product. Nordlink is a small box that connects to any NMEA 2000 system, sending data to the Nild Cloud, which can include engine, AIS, position, depth, wind, and tank data. The box is low-cost and comes with a free app for configuration and a basic free account for viewing the boat's position and core navigation data. The Nild Cloud enables applications for monitoring, alerting, control, and historical analysis. Digital also mentioned a partnership with VM, a New York startup founded by the original founder of MongoDB. Integrating Tech for Maritime Efficiency Digital discussed the integration of various technologies, including the Internet of Things, robotics, and AI, into their maritime platform. They highlighted the collaboration with a significant technology business, which has been helpful in standardizing NMEA 2000 data and incorporating low-cost sensors. Digital also introduced a new app called Anchor Smart, which uses AI and cloud technology to monitor and alert users about potential boat dragging and weather changes. The app is designed to provide a more efficient and accurate anchoring experience. New Technologies and GNSS Integration Digital discussed the integration of new technologies into their platform, including a product called Boat Vault that logs and stores data for boats. They also introduced a new GNSS product that operates with GPS, Galileo, Beidu, and NavIC, offering sub-meter accuracy and fast updates. The new device is designed to be more resistant to interference and can block certain satellite constellations for comparison. Digital encouraged third-party app development and expressed excitement for the upcoming launch of their cloud platform at Miami. New Products for Boats and MOB Digital discussed new products for boats, including a high precision GPS/GNSS product that connects to various systems and offers voyage data recording. They also introduced a man overboard (MOB) product called MOB Alert, which connects to the boat's NMEA 2000 network and synthesizes the MOB beacon alert. This product is more affordable than traditional MOB beacons and can be used in conjunction with AIS targets. Digital also mentioned the possibility of adding extra switches for larger boats and using the outboard kill cord switch as a method of activating the manual report alarm. New Products and Upcoming Shows Nick from DigitalYourAmerica.com presented new products to the team, including a GPS system, a man-overboard solution, and a synthetic position report. He encouraged feedback and mentioned upcoming shows in Dusseldorf and Miami. He also offered a 20% discount on these products for the "Panama Posse" team. The team expressed enthusiasm for the products, particularly the GPS and man-overboard solutions, and planned to share the information with others.

He's a brief snippet of one of our 7 day mile building Channel Triangle trips. In February. Two of the crew went on to a Yachtmaster prep course on the following week.
Comece a estudar, assistir vídeos e ler livros.
This episode I thought I would share with you an interview I did month or so ago with Paul Trammell on his wonderful podcast 'Offshore Sailing and Cruising '. It was great to chat to Paul and learn about his sailing to date, but as this was an interview I was doing for him introducing myself to his audience we will have to wait for a future date to really get to know Paul more. As by the end of this show we had agreed to go sailing on the Open 60 sometime soon- that might be quite soon! Apologies to the audiophiles listening (Bill Mead!) I had to use Paul's recordings completed over Skype as my own recording was so terrible as to be painful to mine own ears. Trust me, this is the lesser of two weevils ;) If you would like to hear more exclusive sailing content, head over to https://www.patreon.com/themariner and there, for $5 a month you can not only support the all the Mariner content, but also receive a free daily sailing audio book episode, and an extra weekly Mariner podcast episode, both exclusive to Patreon. There's also the chance to pose your own questions on the weekly 'Questions & Tangents' Mariner episodes and get the answers you need to you most troubling sailing conundrums-! See you there!

With extensive upgrades from 2021 to 2025 this Bavaria stands out as one of the best-kept and best-equipped examples available in Greece today. Mechanically, the boat features a reliable Volvo Penta D1-30 engine, a serviced saildrive with a new diaphragm, and a folding 3-blade propeller. Energy needs are fully supported by a 412Ah LiFePO4 battery bank, 470W of solar, and a Victron Multiplus inverter/charger system. Electronic systems include a full Raymarine suite with radar, autopilot, AIS transceiver, NMEA2000 backbone, and a Starlink Mini and Glomex 4G system for internet connectivity. Comfort upgrades include Webasto heating, electric toilet, reupholstered mattresses and saloon cushions, a full galley, and a Dometic freezer. On deck, she boasts recent standing and running rigging, full-batten OneSails mainsail, furling genoa, and unused storm jib. The teak-lined cockpit includes a powerful electric windlass with remote, Rocna Vulcan anchor, sprayhood and bimini, and a Highfield RIB tender with Mercury 20 hp EFI outboard. Removal of old Bilge fan, installs some additional lights in the Galley and adds electrical outlet to aft cabin. This is a very real account of how we are as a family and how we all interact at all times. ► This new catamaran, which made its world debut at Annapolis – though this was actually hull #3 - is astonishing in more ways than one. Firstly, the construction, carried out in Thailand, uses a double sandwich structure (Big Mac-style) comprising two layers of closed-cell foam and three fiberglass skins - one on the outside, one in the middle and one on the inside. The resulting thickness (7 cm/2¾ inches!) means that no bulkheads are required, allowing the catamaran to be fitted out as desired. This multihull also features twin 55-kW electric motors, an impressive 210-kWh battery bank and supports 4,900 Wp of solar panels - enough to ensure more than 100 nautical miles in electric mode and more than 1,800 miles in hybrid mode at a cruising speed of 6 knots. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Builder: Group Island Spirit Length: 51’9” (15.77 m) Beam: 26’10” (8.19 m) Draft: 5’1” (1.54 m) Displacement: 36,375 lbs (16.5 t) Sail area: 1,905 sq ft (177 m²) Fuel: 264 US gal (1,000 l) Water: 264 US gal (1,000 l) Cabins: 3 to 6 Price: $1,500,000 ex-tax, ready to sail (2025) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests!
