We head across France via the Normandy Coast and dig into the history of D-Day before cutting east across the Loire Valley. We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a camper in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.

We decide to sail north towards the Channel Islands and Santa Barbara. As you can see in the video, the smoke from the wildfires becomes more and more prominent the further North we sail. I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of boat related youtube videos and got myself registered with dozen sailing forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons. Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. Because of this Corona virus situation in the world It is just being put on hold... Cruises from Nassau Bahamas will begin sailing on June 12th, 2021 Adventure of the Seas: starting sailing from Nassau in June Vision of the Seas: starting sailings from Bermuda in June (dates not announced yet) Adventure of the Seas June 12, 19, 26 - Bahamas + Cozumel with 2 days at Perfect Day at Coco Cay Documenting new procedures on cruising in 2021 ======================================== New rules for cruising Guests 18 years and older to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 Each guest must submit proof of vaccination no later than boarding day, in the form of the original vaccination record This means that the guest has completed the full cycle of required doses for the vaccine administered (e.g., received the second dose in a two-dose series), and that the guest has received the final dose at least 14 days before sailing. Under 18 requires a negative covid test. Travel agents are amazing! ======================================== I reached out to my travel agent, Lisa Stewart with Dream Vacations, who was on-the-ball with contacting Royal Caribbean right away to get availability. Not only did she find me a cabin on one of these first cruises in June, but she also sent me all covid vaccination requirements. I definitely recommend having a travel agent! Travel agents are free to use and almost always have inside information to cabin availability that you can’t find online. Lisa was able to find a balcony cabin for about $100 less than an inside cabin! I will be flying to Nassau for less than $200 thanks to Travel Hacking! I’ve accumulated a lot of American Airlines points by using credit cards the right way and taking advantage of signup bonuses so my round trip plane ticket to Nassau will be free and I only have to pay the government fees for the ticket! I’m looking forward to documenting this trip for you and am planning on releasing youtube videos as soon as possible (and maybe even live streaming from the ship!) I’m also really excited about having 2 days at CocoCay so I will do my best to make detailed videos of everything that CocoCay has to offer. This will also be my first time on Adventure of the Seas and even though it’s an older ship, there have been quite a few updates done to it and of course, all of the covid precautions that have been added will be interesting to see.

Ryan calls it the Chocolate Covered Cherry This magical alcoholic beverage, much like many of the other liquid treats we’ve mixed up, uses simple measurements and only three ingredients. Nothing too complex that you can’t try it out at home for yourself. If you want us to make one for you, well then just show the heck up! Recipe for 1: - 1.5 oz Nutz & Rum Liqueur - 1.5 oz Drambuie - .5 oz Cherry Brandy Shake lots and lots till you have a nice, cold slush going. Then strain the liquid into a stylish, V-shaped glass that is the appropriate size for an apéritif or digestif. The delicate drinkware we used came from a thrift shop from Lauren’s most recent New York trip - a whole buck for the pair! Hard to believe they didn’t break on the way down. Don’t go out and buy new stuff- there is an amazing array of funky, handcrafted tableware just sitting around waiting to be up-cycled. Cocktail Garnish: Chocolate shreds right on top! And maybe plop a maraschino cherry in if you fancy it. We were thrilled to use Crayfish Bay Organics http://crayfishbayorganicchocolate.com/ It's tree-to-bar chocolate. Their chemical free cocoa beans are charcoal roasted on their estate, where the product is seen to completion. It's incredibly impressive! Not shown: We didn’t add a cherry, but we did sink a small bit of cherry juice for a little extra bit of visual interest at the bottom of the glass. The result is a romantic, very enticing, creamy rose-hued beverage…almost of the color of strawberry ice cream. This drink is tasty, and it yields 3.5 oz of alcohol.
