After spending 6 weeks in Annapolis getting our transmission rebuilt, we headed north anchoring in the Bohemia River. The next day, we transited the C&D Canal and came out on the Delaware River. Our plan was to cruise out Delaware Bay onto the Atlantic and make it to New York and New England, where we would spend the summer. Unfortunately, summer had other plans for us. Our engine started knocking and without any alarm sounding, we ran out of oil. Randy had checked the oil night before and it ended up being a high pressure hose from the oil cooler that was gushing out oil. After attempting to patch it up and make it to a marina, the engine eventually shut down and seized. Summer cruising was over. We were towed to nearby Delaware City Marina where we spent the remainder of the summer having our Perkins engine pulled out and rebuilt. Dopo aver visitato i magnifici templi di Java e una breve sosta alle isole Karimunjava abbiamo puntato la prua sul Borneo. In particolare verso il fiume Kumai dove abbiamo lasciato la barca all'ancora per tre giorni di navigazione nella foresta pluviale a bordo di un Kotlok. E' stata l'occasione per rilassarci e farci viziare dall'equipaggio di questa piccola barca fluviale dove avevamo a disposizione un capitano, un marinaio, una guida ambientale e un'ottima cuoca. Abbiamo visto gli orangutan, il gibbone, le scimmie nasiche e i soliti macachi. Un'esperienza emozionante che consigliamo a tutti.

In this episode I get waved down by some struggling paddleboarders who are having trouble getting back to shore against the wind and waves. I take them aboard while under sail by going hove to and sail them back to the marina. This is the 4th rescue I've been involved in at this lake, but usually I just tow kayakers back to a protected cove. This is the first time I've taken people onto the boat.
