► Bruntons Propellers had a booth at the boot Düsseldorf show to promote its propeller solutions for sailboats - and therefore multihulls. Founded in 1868, the British company draws on its long industrial experience, something that doesn’t prevent it from continuing to develop its products for recreational boating. ► At the stand, David Sheppard, Sales and Marketing Director, reiterated the brand’s core business: “We mainly design propellers for sailboats and motor yachts, and in the recreational boating sector, we offer the Autoprop and the Varifold.” ► The Autoprop is based on an automatic variable pitch mechanical principle. “The propeller constantly finds the right pitch for the speed of the boat,” explains David. This process optimizes propulsive efficiency compared to a conventional propeller, reduces hydrodynamic resistance when purely under sail, and improves performance astern by maintaining the leading edge of the propeller. The technology is also available with the Autoprop Eco*Star, developed for hybrid and electric engines. What’s it really like to enter a new country by boat? In this episode, we sail into Thailand and take you along for the full process of entering a country by sailboat — from Immigration and Customs to the Harbour Master. It’s a long, sometimes confusing day that looks very different from flying into a country, and it’s all part of the reality of full-time boat life. Because we’re entering by sea, we have to handle all the paperwork ourselves, travel hours inland, and officially bring both ourselves and our sailboat into the country , something most travelers never see. We didn’t film inside government buildings, as filming isn’t permitted in these areas. After hours of paperwork, ferries, long drives, and waiting, we finally make it back to our boat, but the adventure doesn’t stop there. The very next day, we lift anchor and continue exploring Thailand’s islands by sailboat. This is the final episode in our haul-out series – the last push to get ARGO ready for the water again. After all the sanding, antifouling and maintenance work in Episode 2, we tackle some of the bigger structural jobs that have been waiting their turn. First up – fixing soft spots in the deck. It’s a long, awkward job in extremely tight spaces, but absolutely worth it. The result is a stronger, more solid deck and the peace of mind that ARGO is in great shape. We also complete the diesel tank repairs, including installing new fuel hoses so everything is running clean and reliable. With the engines sorted and the tanks repaired, ARGO is now in great shape mechanically as well. But… it wouldn’t be a haul out without a surprise. An unexpected job pops up (as they always do), extending our time on the hard by another week. Boats, hey! While we’re there, Jason makes the most of it and services the clutches, so everything is in top shape and ready for the season ahead. Along the way we tick off a number of other smaller jobs that always seem to appear when the boat is out of the water. After weeks of work, ARGO is now clean, strong and ready to sail again – and we can’t wait to get back out there and kick off sailing Season 3. Thanks for watching.
