I was SO lucky to walk past this massive event this morning on my way back to our flat. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone was and truly excited to see me. The media immediately started pairing me together with the wedding couples. After a few minutes, I was able to learn about the event and its purpose which are both really interesting. The fact that Qingdao was hosting a wedding with many people in close proximity says that the fear of Covid-19 is pretty much dissipated. Also, I would guess about less than half of the people attending, and the couples did not wear masks. Another really interesting surprise was how the wedding culture heavily favored Western tradition. The girls were in traditional dresses and carried bouquets. I have yet to see that in Qingdao. It's funny though...most of the girls wore black shoes! The ceremony had most of the components of traditional western weddings and you will see that in the video. At one point, I was identified by a security guard and he would not allow me to stay inside the ropes....even though the wedding was almost over. He was showing me who was boss! Ironically, the girl who ran the whole event had invited me! In this episode we cross the Bay of Biscay from Camaret sur Mer, France to A Coruña, Spain. It is our longest offshore, open water crossing to date. 366 nm. It took us nearly 3 full days and nights. The Bay of Biscay is notorious for strong winds, big seas and harsh weather. I guess it went on summer holiday when we got there because, there was little to no wind and the seas were not harsh. Better than the alternative but, we motored more than we sailed. All in all it was a pleasant experience but, we would have preferred to sail. We arrived in A Coruña in the dark and had the anchor set at 6AM. Rewarded with a well deserved anchor beer/wine. It's 5 o'clock somewhere. Music by Troy and Paula Haag Hope you enjoy it. We meet up with other boats in Viveiro and arrange kite course on the beach. After a few days we sail to Cedeira and do some exploring and some boat work. In the middle of the hard work we catch our first fish!!

After an early start with lots of excitement about the journey which lay ahead we got stopped by the one thing we can not control..... the weather. The fog rolled in just before day break and goth thicker and thicker making it too dangerous to head out. With the tide ebbing out before the sun burnt off the fog it meant we could no longer make it out the channel without running aground. So it was back to the marina for some more boat work and some coffee to plan and alternative route for the afternoon.
