The 44Cup has been returning to Marstrand, Sweden, for ten years; however, for 2022, a new partnership with Marstrands Segelsällskap has formed as the supporting yacht club for the event. With it, a strong youth programme has been created to run alongside the 44Cup Marstrand, and this year has allowed five local youth sailors the opportunity to gain work experience with the professional crews and the local optimist sailors the chance to meet their heroes.

In this episode Assarain IV continues north from Castle Island in the Crooked Island group in the Bahamas. On arrival at Clarence Town, Long Island, the crew meets up with some other cruisers on the beach, who let us know about a local pig roast. The next day we join Tim and Toby for a drive up to see some of the sights including: - The Shrimp Hole....a local cavern that's home to a unique red shrimp. - Dean's Blue Hole, the (debated) deepest vertical blue hole in the world, descending down 220m from the surface. Dean's Blue Hole is home to many free diving competitions and is also a cool hangout, with a nice protected beach, jumpable cliffs, and blue water. After all that fun, we continue to Georgetown, where we pick up our new crew for the next couple of weeks. Meet...Jeannine's parents! Thanks for following! Join us in Vancouver as we take on the big job of cleaning a Sea Ray Sundancer 310 cruiser. This beautiful boat had a lot of barnacles and mussels sticking to parts like the trim tabs, rudders, propellers, shafts, and struts. This happens often with power boats because these parts generally aren't painted with antifouling paint. We also found that the boat's through-hulls were mostly blocked, and the water intakes had growth in the intake ports. We had to clear these to make sure the boat can run smoothly. Another interesting thing we noticed is that the anodes on the starboard propeller shaft had more corrosion than the ones on the port propeller shaft. This could be because of a stray electrical current in the water, or even just dissimilar metals creating a saltwater circuit which causes marine electrolysis. The hull hosted a thin layer of algae slime, but no significant growth. Instead of scrubbing it off, we left it as is to protect the remaining ablative paint on the hull. Ablatives are almost like a layer of chalk on the hull which sea life has a tough time sticking on to when the boat is in motion. Filmed on a GoPro Hero 9 in Vancouver.

Bought a pair of 1981 Sunfish that had been in a field for about 20 years. Thankfully this one was hull up and in the shade so no water intrusion. Sailed her a few times and handles very well.
