In this episode we make three hops through an area where there has been recent Orca attacks. We will stay close to the coast to minimize the chance of an interaction. We sail from Port Louis, Lorient via Port Haliguen, L'Herbaudiere & Les Sables D' Olonne to La Rochelle where we will decide to cross the Bay of Biscay and follow the western atlantic coast to the Med or put the boat on a truck to the med and leave our buddies behind. A difficult decision.

We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our sailboat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is sail the Mediterrainean Sea and really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager. We often get the question, can I get a sailing certification when I go on a sailing vacation? While it is possible for the experienced and competent, it is not the best use of time and others' expectations of the boat usage while on a vacation. Gaining a Sailing Certification requires repetitive training to build muscle memory and an extensive assessment of many required skills. Usually, it is better to do this in your home local waterway because of the repetitive nature of the multitude of learning tasks. On a sailing training vacation, you are experiencing all these in practical use. But not necessarily repeating tasks to build the required muscle memory. Spend your vacation training time learning to manage a boat on a vacation. Get the technical training and certification requirements done in your home local waterway. Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles Andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. Obwohl Squib noch nicht ganz fertig ist, werfen wir die Leinen los und starten unsere erste Etappe donauabwärts. Dreieinhalb Wochen später erreichen wir das Donaudelta, der Mast wird gestellt, ein passendes Wetterfenster abgewartet, in zwei Sclägen überqueren wir das Schwarze Meer bis zum Bosporus. Ohne Einzuklarieren mit gehisster Q Flagge durchqueren wir die Türkei und erreichen 5 Tage später die Ägäis. Über Limnos und die nördlichen Sporaden segeln wir bis in den Großraum Athen, von wo aus Sabina nach Hause fliegt, weil ihr Urlaub zu Ende ist. 5级雪崩风险带娃从雪场撤离。跟朋友在Chamonix Grands Montents滑雪，本来滑得正尽兴，在餐厅休息，突然有工作人员说餐厅要关门了，因为雪崩风险升到5级了，所以赶紧带娃撤退，我们是3个爸爸带了4个小孩，5岁，7岁，8岁和12岁的小孩，下山要先坐一段lift到山顶再换gondola下山，整个过程也算是有惊无险吧😀
