On every beach we have ever been to we find plastic waste. On seeing a post through Facebook for bottle cap sorting, we meet Ocean Crusaders, a charity organisation that specialise in waterway cleaning on a large scale. Their entire campaign is run with a passion for the ocean having seen the issue our wildlife is facing first hand. Looking into the eyes of a dead turtle and wondering what killed it, to later find out it was plastics, drives their campaign to ensure that our oceans, waterways and beaches are clean and safe for all animals. This episode we spend a few days sorting bottle caps and see the successful outcome of this trial project.

An interesting situation where I was sailing close-hauled through a narrow channel and a sport fisherman tried to claim right of way over my sailboat because he was trolling lines (that only applies to large commercial fishing vessels).

At the 2022 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Ocean sat down with Rodney Longhurst, Owner and Chairman of Riviera Australia. Longhurst spoke to Ocean about the three main launches that took place at SCIBS, which included the 4600 Sport Yacht, the 465 SUV and the 78 Motor Yacht, three very different models. Also discussed was the refinement of Riviera's products, which combine luxury elements with sporting elements to encompass all needs. Formality is certainly present on each yacht, yet there is also an underlying sense of adventure that makes Riviera perfect for families. After Celina got her new livery and some other improvements it was time to test her on a short 30 nautical mile trip to the islands of Cabrera. I set sail in the morning hours and the breeze was steady but not too strong. It was such a great feeling being out there after six weeks of hard work in the docks. Cabrera is a natural reserve and they provide buoys since anchoring is not allowed. After a calm and relaxed night I explored the island and learned about its history involving pirates and Napoleon. As the temperatures continue to rise fires begin to cover the Italian hillsides. We get another big leak in our dingy and are stuck at the marina another night attempting to patch it. STILL TOO HOT.
