We continue our way south down the ICW. We had some time on our hands so we decided to tackle a very common issue with older sailboats, leaky port lights- discretion, we don't really recommend fixing a port light the way we did. It gets the job done but is by no means a long term solution. Unexpectedly, we also become accidental crab trappers and we investigate a UFO, that turns out to be mylar balloons. And we finally get ourselves and the boat to FLORIDA only to spend our first 3 days here in a major storm. But we do eventually get ashore to explore Fernandina Beach. Between the jobs I've been working I bought a larger hull I hope to combine with the catamaran to make a trimaran. We become addicted to weather apps, and still find ourselves in a gale force 8 with wind on the nose and rain like needles! Ben explains how a laser level has been used during the process of fixing floors and frames for the build of John Alden's schooner design, Malabar IV. The second part of the film shows Sam Langhout and Corin Nelson-Smith (volunteers) making a pattern for a laminated frame, using the loft floor to make a pattern, transferring that onto the timber and then the process of 'lamination' to build this type of frame, which you also see being fitted. Mit dem Minivan fuhren wir 3 Stunden von Pai nach Mae Hong Son ( ... an den Arsch der Welt!). Auf dieser Fahrt lernten wir wieder zwei Weltreisende kennen – diesmal aus Hawai. Jason und Julia begeisterten uns! Wie wir waren auch sie aufgebrochen um ein Jahr durch die Welt zu reisen. Der Ort strahlte von Anfang an mehr Ursprünglichkeit in den Bergen aus. Auch die Tierwelt zeigte sich uns unmittelbar ganz zauberhaft. Nachdem wir uns im Pool abgekühlt hatten, machten wir einen Spaziergang durch den Ort und bestaunten den See, das Tempelgelände, die besondere Holzarchitektur der Bergwelt, den dortigen Food-Market und ließen uns das Pad Thai eines kleinen Lokals schmecken. Im Anschluss genossen wir die kleine Tee- und Kaffee-Ecke unseres Guesthouses direkt am See.In den Tempeln am See fand abends eine ganz andere Art der Zeremonie statt.
