Depois de reiterar por muitos anos que nunca teria um animal na minha casa, uma cadela pariu na porta da minha residência e fui "obrigado" a cuidar da mãe e de dois filhores. Não gostava desse bicho. Mas, a partir do sétimo mês de idade notei que o macho (o THOR) era muito apegado comigo. Então comecei a leva-lo diariamente nas minhas caminhadas. Criou-se, entre nós, uma amizade muito bonita e elogiada por pessoas amantes dos pets. Com o tempo, de forma natural e impeceptível, o cão passou a me obedecer em muita coisa, Inclisive não atravessandoa rua sem minha ordem. No mês que completei 66 anos, e o Thor 2,5 anos, por insistênica de amigos e principalmente da minha filha, comprei minha primeira bicicleta da vida. Quando fui pedalar a primeira vez meu corção partiu ao deixar meu amigo. Tentei coloco-lo no guidão, mas ele é grande e eu muito barbeiro. Então encostei a bike e não andei enquanto não comprei um reboque para puxá-lo. Como sou aventureiro por natureza, resolvi criar um desafio: sair de Morrinhos, GO, e chegar até Paraty, RJ, onde mora minha filha. With no wind, some lovely sun and a glass like lake, there was only 1 thing to do. Get the outboard on and have a lazy motor about. In this video I decided to visit the River DEE entrance and exit to the lake and experience the currents they generate. Bonjour à tous, Après une merveilleuse semaine de vacances en Auvergne, les travaux sur Pierrick II ont débuté. Au programme, le démâtage, motivé par deux raisons principales : premièrement, la vérification du gréement après avoir affronté des vents à 180 km/h en novembre dernier (vous pouvez visionner lnotre vidéo : https://youtu.be/WMH3j0eL_iU?si=VMt23feqXIB9s3Wj]). Deuxièmement, l'installation d'un étai largable par la société All Purpose de Roscoff. Le remplacement de notre moteur est assuré par la société IVIN de Roscoff, celui-ci nous ayant lâchés il y a plus d'un mois. Une grosse révision était initialement prévue, mais malheureusement, le moteur n'a pas tenu jusqu'à présent. En plus de ces travaux, nous entreprenons divers aménagements pour le confort, la sécurité, ainsi que d'autres petites améliorations. De plus, une grande surprise est en préparation :). We’re officially kicking off the installation of our electric drive system! ⚡️ Back in the spring, we received our electric motor, but we couldn’t move forward with fittings until our couplers were milled to the proper size. With that step now complete, we’re finally able to start positioning and aligning the motor inside the boat. In this episode, you’ll see: Milling the coupler to achieve a precise fit between the motor and prop shaft Bringing the electric motor onboard for its first placement Measuring, bonding, and glassing in the motor mounts (temporarily) Priming the mounts in preparation for final alignment work This stage isn’t permanent yet — everything is still in “trial fit” mode — but it’s a huge step forward in our progress. Next up, we’ll be glassing in the mounting structures for auxiliary equipment and continuing to refine the motor installation alongside the stern tube. We’re excited to share this milestone with you as our catamaran moves closer to becoming fully electric-powered. Before Arabella heads south for another season of exploration, Steve returns to where the journey first began—the woods and stumps where the oak trees for the boat were harvested more than 10 years ago. What was once a busy milling site covered in sawdust, logs, and lumber stacks has slowly returned to forest. The stumps remain, the next generation of trees is already growing, and the cycle continues. Back aboard the boat, preparations for summer expeditions along Newfoundland’s remote south coast are ramping up. Climbing ropes, bolts, static lines, and expedition gear are unpacked and sorted as Steve and Robin get ready to explore massive granite walls that may hold untouched climbing routes.
