Faced with the scourge of plastic waste, the committed intervention of Marco Simeoni. Thursday, May 9 was the 15th edition of the Forum des 100, platform for debate and networking, articulated around an annual conference hosted by important speakers. This forum aims to promote the economic dynamism and creativity characteristic of the French-speaking region. For a whole day, guests discuss key issues in the future. Theme of the 2019 edition: "Ecological transition: the time of action" Marco Simeoni was one of the speakers invited to speak. The Founder and President of the Race for Water Foundation has delivered a committed speech, commensurate with the urgency he has been denouncing since the creation of the Foundation in 2010 and the beginning of his fight against plastic pollution, a real scourge of the 21st century. The Race for Water Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the water and the oceans in particular. Today, seriously under threat from plastic pollution, it is imperative that this essential resource for life is protected. To prevent plastic waste from reaching the waterways and oceans by developing social models and business models that give value to plastic waste and hence encourage its collection. We backroll into another drifting reef dive along with our new friends from Sailing Catamaran Mana and ScubaTech. As you are watching, please subscribe to our YouTube channel! www.youtube.com/c/sailingsweetruca If you really liked it, and want to help us make more videos, support us on Patreon! www.patreon.com/ruca This time we are on the reefs off of Grande Anse Beach. This area is right in front of the major resort area on the south west side of the island. It is fairly protected from waves, but there is considerable current. This is two dives meshed into one. Both are in the depth range of 35-50 feet. We had a camera problem on the first dive, so we came up with some poor and almost unusable footage. The second dive turned out great, so we mostly used this footage, but spliced in a few from dive one. What happened? Well, the go-pro waterproof cover was taken off on the boat for a bit to grab some audio and we think a little water got in and caused condensation on the lens, making the video foggy. There is lots of amazing coral, sponges, ocean, and marine life in these videos. We see spiny Caribbean lobster, flutter fish, butterfly fish, file fish, creole wrasse, cow fish, and lizard fish. Wahine is leaving her home of nearly ten years and on Valentines Day she said goodbye to past crew and friends.. She seemed to take it in good grace but the skipper was a tad emotional! Also this week was my last work out at the UFC Gym, sailing with the news sails, testing the storm jib and more. So now it is working long hours everyday getting ready to leave Feb 28th. Much to do including a second inspection after the life raft arrives for my permit to sail offshore. Season 3: the Voyage will premier on my Birthday March 20th. In the meantime will keep posting these weekly video updates. Enjoy. Thanks to all those making this voyage possible: Keel Club Founding Members: Harry A. Today we jumped in a plane and flew to Columbus just to grab some BBQ ribs! John and I headed to Discover Aviation to grab the Cessna 172 and took off from Lorain County Airport, which is near Cleveland. There’s an amazing restaurant called JP’s at Bolton Airfield, right outside Columbus. On the way down we flew right over "The Shoe" which is THE Ohio State University football stadium. This Cessna has been completely overhauled. Brand new engine, prop, avionics and more. The autopilot on this bad boy is amazing! I truly have grow to love high wing planes and this is no exception. Once we got to JP’s we were greeted with open arms. They saw our cameras and immediately got exited. We got the “First Class Platter” which had ribs, wings, pulled pork, bone in chicken, baked beans, potatoes and a million sides. If you’re even in Columbus, please check them out. Luckily covered by insurance and i caught the righting on film which i will post soon if my go-pro hasn't lost it!! Hard going day with a lot going on, pretty battered and bruised by lines, sails and general stuff flying around! Our longest non-stop offshore trip on Polaris so far, 334nm, 53h from Tréguier across the English Channel, around Land's End, through Bristol Channel and parts of the Irish Sea to Dublin. One could get the impression that Kathrin was sleeping all the time... well, not true, she was doing her watches too. We had a large pod of dolphins playing with Polaris for a long time in the Bristol Channel. The conditions were mostly OK with wind on the beam as strong as Force 8 at times during the night, but Polaris, our trusted Bavaria Cruiser 46, coped very well. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and sunrises and got caught by the magic of the oceans. A light to medium sou’easter brought the fleet down the harbour. Black Jack had the best of the breeze leading the fleet through the Heads.

Sailing Baja Mexico, we are finding so many remote areas full of abandoned ghost towns. In this episode, we explore salt mines, find an abandoned mansion, make friends with the local kids to practice our spanish, and we enjoy an anchorage where the pelicans put on a show. We also find the Mexico red rock formations that remind us a lot of home.
We travel to Baja Mexico La Mision in our 4x4 truck camper. The adventure continues with amazing beaches a scenic aroyo as travel vanlife continues. Did I mention we had some amazing food and restaurants with incredible views.

Colourful coral ledges. Wedding Cake Dive Site in Misool Wedding Cake dive site is also known as Layer Cake. When you see the Eastern side of this dive site, you'll notice all the different layer formations as the wall stretches down to below 30m. I guess that's where it gets its name from. It's a very diverse dive site with many different slopes and walls to explore with the Eastern side being more colourful and way more abundance of corals. Don't discard the Western side though. Although it's not as colourful, there any many different marine species one can find among the rubble. The current can get very strong here, but at least there will be many place to take shelter due to the shape of the dive site. In the right season, Wedding Cake is filled with schools of small fish being hunted. Always a treat to see ;) Subscribe! https://www.youtube.com/@LiveaboardLife/videos?sub_confirmation=1 Share this video with your friends. https://youtu.be/vZ9gVu9NcLs Music: PIXABAY LICENSE CERTIFICATE ============================================== This document confirms the download of an audio file pursuant to the Pixabay License as defined in the Pixabay Terms of Service available at https://pixabay.com/service/terms/ Licensor's Username: https://pixabay.com/users/magnetic_trailer-27466606/ Licensee: u_qguxn46mw4 Audio File Title: Mountain Path Audio File URL: https://pixabay.com/music/beautiful-plays-mountain-path-125573/ Audio File ID: 125573 Date of download: 2023-04-02 12:19:34 UTC Pixabay GmbH c/o Lacore Rechtsanwälte LLP Berliner Freiheit 2, 10785 Berlin, Germany Pixabay is a user-contributed stock content website. ► Full article in Multihulls World Special Issue Power N°21: https://www.multihulls-world.com/articles-catamaran-trimaran/cumberland-44-refit-the-opportunity-to-be-consuming-less-than-a-liter-per-mile ► The second-hand market for powercats is beginning to grow, thanks to a steady increase in new production over the past ten years (Leopard, Aquila, Fountaine Pajot...). Older models are rarer, and above all do not come from large production runs, but they do offer the opportunity, for a budget of less than €350,000, to buy an offshore-capable powercat ready for a refit. As the late Marc Lombard used to say, the real “green” boat is the second-hand boat... But can we do even better than that? Can a catamaran powered by internal combustion engines totaling almost 600 HP be part of a sober approach in keeping with the times? This is the challenge taken up by an experienced owner, adopting the most modern technical solutions and an ethical attitude. We’d like to share with you an interesting - even inspiring - example of how this Cumberland 44 has been given a second lease of life out on the water. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Fountaine Pajot Architects: Michel Joubert and Bernard Nivelt Builder: Fountaine Pajot Length: 44’ (13.4 m) Beam: 21’6” (6.55 m) Draft: 3’11” (1.2 m) Light displacement: 30,865 lbs (14 t) Engines: 2 x 285 HP on our test version / up to 2 x 560 HP as an option Max. speed: 20/25 knots Fuel: 210 US gal/800 l(or 315 US gal/1,200 l for the Cumberland 47 LC) Water: 185 US gal (700 l) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!

S/V Tomorrow, a Norman Cross 50ft trimaran built by former Boeing engineer Ray Pond, is a testament to innovative design and long-lasting performance. Launched in 1989, this vessel was crafted with an emphasis on lightweight construction and long service life. Over the years it has completed over 20 successful journeys to Alaska. In 2017, the trimaran was repurposed for bioacoustic whale research in Canada. To minimize noise and ensure close, non-invasive interactions with marine life, the vessel underwent a major upgrade, replacing its traditional combustion engine with an Oceanvolt AXC30 electric motor. This modification enables the boat to operate with minimal acoustic impact close to whales. After successful whale research expeditions in Canada, the "S/V Tomorrow" is now set to continue its work in the South Pacific, furthering efforts to study marine accoustics. The trimaran’s journey is an example of how technology and innovation can blend to minimize noise impact on nature.

There’s a certain timeless elegance to a Nautor Swan, and "Indigo", a Swan 55, is no exception. This Swan is designed, built and fully equipped for long-distance cruising in total comfort. Since her launch, "Indigo" has had only three owners. Her current passionate owners, who bought her in 2004, have consistently maintained and updated her systems and equipment. In 2022/2023, she received a preventive osmosis treatment along with a comprehensive epoxy application to the underwater hull. Most recently, in June 2025, she returned to the Audax Shipyard for fresh antifouling. During this visit, her Awlgrip-painted hull was also professionally polished and waxed. Sailing "Indigo" is a pleasure, even short-handed, thanks to her full suite of hydraulic systems: in-mast furling mainsail, furling headstay, backstay, and winches. Her standing rigging was replaced in October 2024, and she carries a new mainsail (2025) and a furling staysail (2023), ensuring her sail inventory is in well, updated condition. Her sail wardrobe also includes a furling genoa and an asymmetric spinnaker. She is furthermore equipped with a 116hp Perkins diesel engine paired with a feathering propeller and a hydraulic retractable bow thruster. Additional onboard systems include a Westerbeke diesel generator, inverters, a water maker, and a comprehensive navigation and communication package. Further to that, she comes with a dinghy with outboard engine, life raft, numerous covers and a full winter/summer cover.
