After spending 4 months in Marina Motril, it’s finally time to leave the safe harbor We became part of the family there, so we were a little bit sad. We found out pretty quick, that a lot wasn’t working correctly Our new shaft and bearing became very hot, so we turned of our motor and started sailing The spare autopilot what we installed didn’t work well, so we had to hand steer all the way Our plotter did crazy things and gave a lot of stripes, after turning it of and waited a little bit before we turned it on, then luckily that started working again Then our wind meter gave errors and didn’t work anymore, We started to put little flags on the railing so we can see from which direction the wind came from. In the end the wind meter started working again. We didn’t film that much because we had to hand steer for 30 hours, but we had company from many dolphins. Hope you enjoy! George Town in The Exumas is a cruisers Mecca. There were over 320 boats anchored there. Lots of fun beach activities and a great place to meet fellow cruisers. It's also a good place to find someone who might be able to help you whether it's mechanical or electrical, or a spare part needed. The Cruisers Net on VHF channel 72 each morning at 8 is the way to find out what's going on around George Town and Stocking Island.

We head further up the Tamar River anchoring at Little Devils Elbow, where we walk to a nearby winery passing a very creative street with custom letter boxes made from old gas bottles, picking wild blackberries along the way. Returning from our days outing, we luckily find our anchor suddenly dragging just as we arrive to see it leave without us onboard. Even though we had sat safely already for over a day and sat through several strong wind blows, it shows you always need to be careful. We finally discover the cause of our blockage for our through hull, a fish incredibly got drawn up the pipe! We travel further upstream under Batman Bridge to Gravelly Beach, and visit Stoney Rise and Marion's Wineries, climbing up a very old, worn and rickety jetty to get to shore. We then head off very early in the morning across the top and sail overnight down the east coast to the picturesque and most photographed beach in Tasmania, Wineglass Bay. Molly grew up in San Diego, one of the hotbeds of Snipe sailing. She didn't race Snipes very much, but she was in demand with some of the best Snipers when they needed pick up crew for the afternoon practices on the Bay. Why did she want to break into her Olympic campaign schedule with Anna Tunnicliffe and Debbie Capozzi to come sail at the Snipe Women's Worlds in Florida? All her friends in the class had been telling her the competition at Snipe events is strong and and the people at the regatta will help you make the boat go fast. That's exactly what she found. The racing was very tight but even so people would come up to her with suggestions on how to make the boat go faster. Winning the event made the competition and the learning curve that much sweeter.
