Part 2 of our Bahamas journey. We left Spanish Wells and sailed to an anchorage near the Queen's Bath. We ended the trip at West End and crossed back home to Ft. Pierce.
We sailed and motored from Ft. Pierce to Long Island Sound and back. Great summer cruise.
After some cool windy days in The Abacos we sailed south to Spanish Wells. We visited a few places in The Eleutheras. Queen's Bath, Glass Window Bridge, Governor's Harbour, Rock Sound, then on to Long Island, Conception, Georgetown, Compass Cay, Staniel Cay, and finally we spoiled ourselves in Chub Cay and Freeport. We saw a whale breach 3 times. Two were caught on video.

We saw a whale breach while sailing from Long Island to George Town Bahamas.
After 4 months in The Bahamas we sailed back to Florida, stopping in Ft. Pierce, then up the ICW to St. Augustine. We had several repairs and upgrades to do, had friends visit, made new friends, and now it's time to head back to the Bahamas.
We love to look back at those great memories of so many wonderful Christmas celebrations.

We left Galveston on December 5, 2022 and made a few stops in Florida before crossing over to The Bahamas. It was an amazing trip. Beautiful beaches and clear blue water. We met so many people that we'll be friends with forever I hope. As nice as it was we were happy to return to the US.
George Town in The Exumas is a cruisers Mecca. There were over 320 boats anchored there. Lots of fun beach activities and a great place to meet fellow cruisers. It's also a good place to find someone who might be able to help you whether it's mechanical or electrical, or a spare part needed. The Cruisers Net on VHF channel 72 each morning at 8 is the way to find out what's going on around George Town and Stocking Island.
Pigs! Sharks! Iguanas! We faced an aggressive Iguana and some very friendly sharks. Silva was bit by an iguana, not a shark, but she's OK. She petted a pig and a shark. There is so much to see in The Exumas.
We made a provisions and supplies stopover at West Bay in Nassau. Then on to Eleuthera. We stopped in Hatchet Bay but decided to wait out some heavy weather up the coast near Gregory Town. Then to Spanish Wells.
We sailed from Bimini across the great Bahama bank, anchored overnight and on to Great Harbour Cay, Hoffman's Cay with the blue hole, and some luxury living at Chub Cay.
It was a rough crossing but we made it to The Bahamas. We checked in at Bimini. There were some heavy winds coming so we stayed at the Blue Water Marina. We watched a SpaceX Rocket launch from the beach, toured The Dolphin House, and prepared for the next sail. It is a cool town but really just the first taste of The Bahamas. Much more to come.

Had a great sail to Key West, staying at the Key West Bight Marina. It's right there in the middle of the old historic part of town. Lots of interesting places to see, the southernmost point in the US, the Hemingway House and his favorite bar, cuban coffee and some great food.
We spent Christmas in Clearwater Florida waiting for better weather. We sailed to Venice, then to Marco Island where we ran aground coming in but thanks to Tow Boat US we got to Factory Bay. We also share our frustration with crab pots.
We caught up with some friends in Gulfport, then sailed to Clearwater Florida and hung out for a couple of days. We had to finally say goodbye to Al. It was time for him to get back to his life in Kemah. It was a difficult goodbye. He helped us so much and he'll always be on of our very best friends.
