Smooth sailing from Port Everglades to Government cut in Miami and up to Virginia Key where we anchored for the night. We did not capture it on camera but we had the most incredible view of the bright night Miami skyline. We enjoyed it exactly how we wanted.. from a distance. Miami is an awesome place but we aren't too fond of cities in general so we are just passing through... http://tulasendlesssummer.com/shop-tula/ Support our videos through Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/Tulasendlesssummer Amazon Affiliate Link (just click and do your normal amazon shopping - no extra cost to you) - http://amzn.to/2stGEXv Our Store - https://www.amazon.com/shop/fikitensup Jetty’s Vlog!!! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1QACxBejLXp4d5KH4DpPbg @1CaptainBill @SierraaaElizabeth @JettyTheGypsy Facebook.com/TulasEndlessSummer OUR NAVIGATION SETUP: iPad mini 3 (we use Navionics app sold separate) - http://amzn.to/2rUDzTr Waterproof case for iPad mini - http://amzn.to/2sxrnYs Cradle for iPad mini in case - http://amzn.to/2sp0Gpt Mount for iPad mini in cradle (buy multiple bases for multiple mounting locations) - http://amzn.to/2soZXEM ESSENTIAL GEAR: Skin safe, reef safe, organic sunblock - http://amzn.to/2pe7dQO Drone (relatively cheap - compared to others - but amazing quality and functionality) - http://amzn.to/2puw4R3 Gopro Hero 4 - http://amzn.to/2qgCBNh Waterproof iPhone case - http://amzn.to/2qgDMw9 Flexy Tripod for phone - http://amzn.to/2qfFwsq Awesome Waterproof Handheld VHF we use - http://amzn.to/2sjGZyV Essential Boatlife Reading: Chapmans Bible (should be on every boat or in every boaters home) - http://amzn.to/2rUxPsL This Old Boat (Good if your fixing up an old boat like we do) - http://amzn.to/2suev2r "The Essentials of Living Aboard a Boat" - http://amzn.to/2s7TKwt "Twenty Small Sailboats to Take You Anywhere" - http://amzn.to/2sFzkrd "20 Affordable Sailboats To Take You Anywhere" - http://amzn.to/2s7ww9A Towboat U.S. unlimited towing (we used them and glad we had the membership otherwise our tow would have cost over $550!) - http://bit.ly/2sDCtdN Check out our sponsors! Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V700 with a Rode External mic with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action, underwater scenes and small blogging is done with two Osmo action cams. Some boat shots are done with a Dji gimbal camera. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. It would not have been the same without you. This episode was filmed in 08 / 2020. — Hey, my name is Nike and I bought an aluminum 37 foot sailboat in Panama in 2013 that I named KARL. I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean. In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America. In this Episode, I swap my old AGM batteries for some new to me AGM batteries that I bought from a fellow cruiser. Also, I go through an extensive troubleshoot of the electric motor or my Lofrans Tigres Horizontal Windlass only to find out that it was a lose wire that caused all the trouble. Here is a list of the things that I trouble shoot on my electric motor for my Lofrans Tigres Windlass: - check carbon brushes - clean carbon brushes - clean magnets - clean commutator - check commutator for shorts or broken wires - clean armature stack - check armature teeth for no continuity to commutator Hopefully this will help you in case you ever have to check the electric motor of your windlass (or any other electric motor, since it is basically always a similar set up) Enjoy and Ahoy, Nike & Karl

Mon instinct maternel m’empêche de me détendre. Stern tying is a very useful technique to master. In many parts of the world, due to depth or restricted swinging room, it's the only option. Where we are at the moment in Turkey it's the most common way to anchor. This video will look at the basic techniques used to stern tie effectively as well as give lots of tips to make everything go smoothly. We also go through what gear to use and what to avoid. If you haven't already watched part 1 of Anchoring 101 you may wish to see that too. There's lots of tips in the video and an in depth look at anchor chains. See it here... https://youtu.be/2g6Is6sf6Vw And we all love a debate on which is the best anchor! So you can see that here.... https://youtu.be/Y_wBGLL3fKw The stern lines we use in this video are made by Ultra Marine and are called 'Ultraline'. They make a floating Dyneema version and a Polyester version that doesn't float. If you're interested in getting one have a look at the website here...https://www.ultramarine-anchors.com/ There is a chatbox that opens up on the Ultramarine site that has real people with real knowledge to help you! So you can ask any questions there easily.
Why don't I want my Mom to skip this one? It starts out innocently enough with a bonfire in the new spot we sailed to last time - A gorgeous beach in the beautiful San Blas Islands, Panama. We're here with friends on Delos and Plucky of Sailing into Freedom, plus Andi & Charli. We've got a great group of friends, a great anchorage and nothing but beauty, all around us. What could go wrong? First we eye a pretty beach across from the anchorage that we skipped last time when we explored the Sand Bar. Before we can check it out Bill goes on a spear fishing mission with the male buddies of our group with Plukky leading - He catches lots of huge fish and knows where they are hiding. The guys find some incredible sea life but move on to a spot called the Washing Machine. They navigate huge waves and decide to return for a proper dive again but with scuba gear. Once back we hit that pretty beach only to discover crocodile tracks in the sand, followed by an actual day time sighting of him swimming around near the beach, shocking to see in broad day light. We leave the beach for a better hang out spot and let the croc have his space. After a lovely day at the beach with friends and another bonfire followed by a glorious sunset, Bill heads out the next day for the scuba dive. The boys dive a deep cave with multiple caverns, dark but calm once inside and out of the giant crashing waves at it's entrance. Everything is going fine until Brian & Bill inadvertently corner a massive grouper in a tight spot. It's pitch black and the giant fish expels itself out of its hiding spot with gusto threatening to knock the guys. Luckily he misses and alls well that ends well. The exciting day ends appropriately with an equally exciting nighttime adventure: Searching for that croc!! We get more than we bargained for when Plukky decides to enter the water for the perfect GoPro shot - but he falls not once but TWICE and for a few minutes no one's got eyes on the croc!!! 5 years ago, when Ryan and I were absolute sailing noobs, this is the video that I would have wanted to watch :) How is it REALLY like to live on a sailboat? How do you eat? Sleep? Shower? Poop? (Seriously, the boat shower was a mystery to me). More seriously, how does it work having no postal address and how do you deal with healthcare? And are we really as free to go where we want as one may think? Since we get this question literally every single time we meet someone new who’s never been on a boat before, I thought it would be a fun idea to make a video that covers the basics :) — Interested in our low-impact / plastic-free products? We would say that thunder is something of the worst to encounter at sea, especially at night. On our way to Colombia we sail in the worst thunder we've encountered so far. To see the lightning hit the water so close to RAN sent shivers down the spine! We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. WANT MORE? 46.1 Beneteau Oceanis Contact Info: Jeff Erdmann / JE@denisonyachting.com / 954.494.4320 Yacht Details, Photos + Specs: https://hubs.ly/H0lKV180 The Beneteau Oceanis 46.1 boasts all the features of a large cruising sailboat, with a rare balance between elegance, usable space and performance. Her stepped hull opens up an incredible amount of space inside and yet her seakeeping performance is still impressive. A large number of clever customizable fittings make her easy to sail and pleasantly comfortable. The Oceanis 46.1 is based on a Finot-Conq plan, keeping the distinctive stepped hull of the 51.1. Apart from her performance at sea and the huge amount of space that set this boat apart, this architecture makes optimal use of the cockpit beam. An incredibly efficient deck plan makes her wonderfully safe and easy to use. The furling mast, self-tailing jib and all the halyards and sheets brought back to a single winch at each of the helm stations, make maneuvering simple when short-handed sailing. 0:00 Introduction 1:08 Swim Platform 1:20 Cockpit + Helm 2:45 Sail Plan 3:45 Engine Space 4:01 Guest Staterooms 4:23 Galley 4:39 Salon 5:34 Master Stateroom 5:58 Outro

Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. This weekend I got the distribution panel from Blue Sea hooked up. It took just about forever. An entire day in fact. Also in this video a look at fancy ring terminals with heat shrink and adhesive. *** Links *** Sail Life on Patreon: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnPatreon Sail Life on Facebook: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnFacebook Sail Life on Twitter: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnTwitter
