In this episode, we spend time with an incredible NGO in Malta that’s doing vital work to clean up the harbours. These dedicated volunteers aren’t afraid to get stuck in—literally diving into the water to pull up years’ worth of rubbish and debris from the seabed. It was both shocking and inspiring to watch them in action. At one point, we saw them haul up huge ropes, tangled fishing nets, and even old tyres that had been lying underwater for who knows how long. It’s a powerful reminder of the impact pollution has on our oceans, but also of the difference people can make when they care enough to take action. What really struck us was the energy and passion of the team. This isn’t glamorous work—it’s cold, wet, and physically demanding—but their sense of purpose was contagious. They’re not just cleaning harbours; they’re helping to restore marine ecosystems and make the waterfronts safer and more beautiful for everyone. Farewell Tonga - The final Countdown After two and a half months in Tonga, our visitor visas are due for renewal. Instead of renewing, we make the decision to head to Fiji! The first rule of cruising is 'the plan is that there is no plan! ' With limited time left in Tonga we make tracks to explore Kenutu on the eastern shores of Vava'u. We are blessed with settled weather as we explore the rugged coastline and make final preparations for our next offshore passage. After leaving Little Pipe Cay, we arrived at Cambridge Cay, one of the more popular destinations for most cruisers (too many boats); it was not one of ours and we probably would not return. There were dozens of boats and no mooring balls available so we dropped anchor and went for a hike on the island. It was a beautiful hike with great views of the ocean side. This was our first visit to the Exuma National Park and if you drop anchor, you pay $.50/foot per night. A mooring ball is $35/night. We took the time to head over to Rocky Dundas Caves on Fowl Cay, which we were told by our friends that it was well worth the trip. The caves were super cool. Zamieniamy nasze NSU na JACHT i płyniemy w Rajdzie Koguta! DLACZEGO JACHTEM NA RAJD POJAZDÓW ZABYTKOWYCH?  W 2021 meta Rajdu Koguta była w Zakopanem. Dojechaliśmy tam samochodem zabytkowym: NSU RO 80, rocznik 1975.  W 2022 meta Rajdu Koguta była w Giżycku. Dojechaliśmy tam samochodem zabytkowym NSU Prinz 4L.   W 2023 meta Rajdu Koguta będzie w Stegnie na plaży. Płyniemy tam jachtem Westerly Seahawk 34, rocznik 1985. Dlaczego?  W 2022 roku kupiliśmy jacht, planowaliśmy to od kilku lat. Pierwszy sezon podzieliliśmy między nasze różne pasje: Zlot NSU w Niemczech, Rajd Koguta na trasie Oława - Giżycko, rejsy morskie i śródlądowe. W 2023 planowaliśmy skupić się już tylko na żeglowaniu.  Gdy w grudniu zadzwoniła do nas nasza koleżanka Dżasta i poinformowała nas, że jest już ogłoszone tegoroczne miejsce mety Rajdu i można rezerwować noclegi, powiedzieliśmy jej, że my w tym roku nie jedziemy, ponieważ będziemy żeglować.   Po chwili zastanowienia stwierdziliśmy, że  meta jest nad morzem, może tam dopłynąć...? Zaczęliśmy planować rejs. Policzyliśmy trasę, sprawdziliśmy miejsce kotwiczenia przy plaży w Stegnie przy dobrej prognozie pogody, znaleźliśmy alternatywne miejsce schronienia przy złej prognozie.  Umówiliśmy się na spotkanie z głównym organizatorem Rajdu, Tomem Weną.  Przedstawiliśmy nasz plan, przypadł mu do gustu. Zapytał tylko: z którego roku jest jacht? Na szczęście nasza Ofka ma już swoje lata.      Nasz numer startowy to :  "Ż 1".  Tak oto pierwszy raz w historii jacht weźmie udział w Rajdzie Koguta. Życzcie nam stopy wody pod kilem i do zobaczenia na mecie, Magda i Arek. (kot Ofka oczywiście płynie z nami.) Poznański tor też zaliczymy. Jak? Cierpliwości... WHY BY A YACHT FOR A HISTORIC VEHICLE RALLY? In 2021, the finish line of the Rooster Rally was in Zakopane. We got there by a vintage car: NSU RO 80, 1975. In 2022, the finish line of the Rooster Rally was in Giżycko. We got there by a vintage NSU Prinz 4L car. In 2023, the finish line of the Rooster Rally will be in Stegna on the beach. We sail there on a Westerly Seahawk 34, 1985. Why? In 2022 we bought a yacht, we had been planning it for several years. We divided the first season between our various passions: the NSU Rally in Germany, the Rooster Rally on the Oława - Giżycko route, sea and inland cruises. In 2023, we planned to focus only on sailing. When our friend Dżasta called us in December and informed us that this year's finish line of the Rally was already announced and accommodation could be booked, we told her that we are not going this year because we will be sailing. After a moment's thought, we decided that the finish line is by the sea, can it reach there...? We started planning a cruise. We calculated the route, checked the anchorage at the beach in Stegna with a good weather forecast, and found an alternative shelter with a bad forecast. We arranged a meeting with the main organizer of the Rally, Tom Wena. We presented our plan, he liked it. He only asked: what year is the yacht from? Fortunately, our Ofka is already old. Our starting number is: "Ż 1". (Ż=Y- Yacht) This is how the yacht will take part in the Rooster Rally for the first time in history. Wish us a foot of water under the keel and see you at the finish line, Magda and Arek. (Ofka's cat is of course swimming with us.) We will also pass the Poznań track. How?
