We have an action packed video filled with pigs, sharks, turtles, and a trip to the Thunderball Grotto! We loved our time at Staniel Cay in the Exumas. What a fun adventure location! Visiting the pigs was a highlight of our time in the Exumas. I was really surprised at how many there were, how active they were, and how few tourists were on the beach with them. I thought the water would be packed with boats and people and we would see one pig! But, there were dozens of pigs and they were motivated to beg for food. They were friendly, content, and very active. After a couple of hours with the pigs, we had to move on to adventuring in our dinghy. We explored one of the outer islands with one side facing the wild Atlantic Ocean. It was beautiful. We then went into Thunderball Grotto, the grotto made famous because of the James Bond movie, and it was a beautiful grotto, filled with tropical fish and a gorgeous dome ceiling. Then, we snorkeled with a group of resident nurse sharks. The nurse sharks live in the marina and benefit from the fish cleaning station just off the yacht club. They are great to snorkel with, not skiddish and pretty chill. We found more places to snorkel and see great things and we even had some time to fix a couple of issues on our boat. With a race lost on Friday at the 44Cup Portorož World Championship, to recoup the schedule four races were held today (Saturday). The race area was further offshore with the medieval nearby town of Piran as an eyecatching backdrop in one direction with another headland to weather strongly affecting the light breeze causing it to shift frequently between the south and southwest. This made for highly tactical racing with much position changing.

While racing in 44Cup events usually goes to the wire, decided in the last few metres of the final race, this hasn’t been the case this year where the dominant force has been Monaco-based Dutchman Nico Poons and his Charisma team. Winning two bullets from two races on Friday put Charisma into the lead of this 44Cup Portorož World Championship, the pinnacle event of the season for the tweaky high performance one designs. Local Slovenian favourite Igor Lah and his Ceeref powered by Hrastnik 1860 was top scoring boat yesterday, but going into the final day still trailed Charisma by five points, albeit with a more comfortable eight point lead over third-placed Team Aqua.

L’hiver nous ralenti ,normal ,mais pas d hibernation on carène en décembre entre deux coup de vent....

Teil 2: 30. Juli 2024 nach der Brückendurchfahrt von Evripos in Chalkida den nördlichen Golf von Euböa segelten wir mit dem Ziel Sporaden Skiathos. 30.07.2024 (Di) wir hatten wieder 20 kn Wind aus Nord und wie mussten leider in die Richtung. Unser Ziel war die kanadisch aussehende Bucht von Melouna Beach. Es ballerte mit 32 kn Wind, als wir uns der Bucht näherten und überall waren weiße Schaumkronen. Und obwohl wir ständig beide den Blick Richtung Ufer richteten, überfuhren wir in diesen rauen Bedingungen eine Fischerboje. Wir machten den Motor sofort aus. Carlo sprang ins Wasser, mit Leinen zur Sicherung, und versuchte unter dem Schiff die Boje zu befreien. Das Boot trieb mit fast einem halben Knoten und stampfte heftig in den Wellen. Ich fand die Aktion richtig gefährlich. Nach 25 Minuten, als er eine Pause machte, beschlossen wir, die Genua zu setzten und weiter Richtung Norden zu segeln. Der Wind sollte in der Richtung nachlassen und wir kamen damit auch einem möglichen Rettungshafen Näher. Zu unserem Glück schlief kurz danach der Wind ein. Die Wellen beruhigten sich und Carlo war nach weiteren vielen Tauchgängen in der Lage, mit Zange und Schraubenzieher die Leine aus unserer Schraube zu lösen. Carlo, Poseidon, Neptun und allen anderen sei Dank ;) Wir zielten dann doch auf diese schöne Bucht zu. Übersahen eine weitere, kaum sichtbare Boje NICHT. Es war wirklich eine tolle Kulisse aber für die Nacht wäre es zu unruhig gewesen. Somit fuhren wir weiter nach Limni und nachdem dort kein Platz war, weiter nach Loutra. Auf dem Weg dorthin kam raumer Wind und wir segelten das erste Mals seit dieser Reise wunderschön. In Loutra bekamen wir den letzten Platz von vielleicht 6. Dort aßen wir sehr billig und gönnten uns noch zwei Caipis auf unseren überstandenen Schock. Loutra ist sehr touristisch. Es wuselte und gibt Kinderhüpfburgen etc. Uns hats gefallen. 40 - sm 31.07.2024 (Mi) Um 9.36 Uhr legten wir ab und ankerten um 11 Uhr in blauem Wasser bei der Insel Monolia. Sehr flach, sehr blau, sehr schön. Um 13.40 Uhr kamen Wind und Wellen und wir motorten gegen 20 kn Wind nach Glifa. Dieser Hafen war gerade im Bau, daher durfte man nicht rein fahren. Wir legten uns aber außen an die fertige Mole. Wir waren die einzigen. Auch hier gingen wir wieder Essen, da es ein kleines, billiges Touristen-Dorf war. Nachts um 2 Uhr kamen leider Jugendliche, die neben uns lautstark ins Wasser sprangen und ein paar Jungs fingen an unsere Furtuna zu schaukeln. Als wir aus den Fenstern schimpften verschwanden sie jedoch gleich. - 21 sm 1.08.24 (Do) Um 9 Uhr legten wir ab und motorten Richtung Skiathos. Da die Wellen gegen uns waren, kamen wir nur mit knapp 5 kn voran. Um 12:30 drehte aber der Wind und wir konnten Amwind segeln. Ich arbeitete bei Schräglage und Carlo kreuzte ehrgeizig fast bis in den Hafen von Skiathos ;) Um 15 Uhr war der Stadtkai komplett leer. Als wir dort anlegen wollten, wurden wir gleich weg geschickt. So legten wir uns an die Ost-Seite des Schwimmsteges. Auch da wollten sie uns vertreiben, weil wir nicht reserviert hatten. Aber sie erlaubten es dann doch, da wir ja nur ein schmales Schiff sind. Zukünftig würden wir immer dort erfolgreich reservieren. Sie waren wirklich ganz nett da und mit 14 Euro pro Nacht auch relativ günstig. Wir schlenderten zum alten Hafen und dann den Berg hoch in ein tolles Fisch-Restaurant mit toller Aussicht. Skiathos gefiel uns sehr gut! - 30 sm 2.08.24 (Fr) wir kauften noch in dem tollen Supermarkt oben ein und legten um 9:30 ab Richtung Lalaria Beach. Es waren viele Boote und noch mehr Menschen an dem kleinen Stein-Strand. Das Wasser hatte zwar eine tolle Farbe aber war richtig dreckig. Wir pausierten dort von 10:30 bis 13:30 und motorten nördl. um Skiathos in eine wunderschöne westliche Ankerbucht Kechria Bay.
