This is part 5 of a step-by-step build of a B&B Yacht Designs Spindrift 10 nesting dinghy, following the guidance from the build instructions. This video focuses on masking the premiered and prepared surface, applying coats of gelcoat and sanding the gelcoat to a smooth surface, ready for buffing. I really enjoyed this part, it all-of-a-sudden looks like a "real" boat. And, all the hard work in preparing it to this point pays off big time! I purchased the pre-cut "kit" to save some time, but the same results can be accomplished by purchasing the build instructions and cutting your own marine-grade plywood. This video is for those who are looking to build their own dinghy, and who wish to learn more about the process. This is the second project Brent and I worked on together, the previous being a 7' pram for Brent. I hope you enjoy, and I hope you take away some successes we had, as well as learning from some of the failures we encountered.

Episode 79: Sailing Turkey to Greece with unexpected changes in plans This episode Cass and Shelly continue their adventures as they check out of Turkey and set sail to Greece. The plan is to sail to Symi to check into Greece with a lovely sail, medium winds of 15 knots and mostly motoring…little did they know the forecast was about to change along with the sea state in a matter of an hour. In the middle of the night a blow came through with big seas and directly beating into it making for a very rough passage on us as well as the boat. So around midnight Cass woke Shelly up and we set a storm sail in our headsail to balance the boat and change course. Rather than continuing to beat into the wind and waves directly towards Symi we came off the wind and veered course towards Rhodes. We decided to use it as a safe harbor and checked into Greece here. Now it’s time to explore a new island and what a beauty it is. Rhodes Acropolis, Seven Springs, Lindos Castle and Lindos Beach are all great destinations and sites to explore.
