We live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's called Qingdao and the city is located on the East Coast of China on the Yellow Sea. Our video captures about 6 km of the 44 km of coastline, but you get a good sense of the natural beauty we enjoy each day. This is a city that is overlooked when tourists visit China, but it's well worth a visit if you enjoy climbing mountains, walking/running/cycling along the seaside. We hope you enjoy the video! Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? If you wish to support our video efforts, all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE, give a THUMBS UP, SHARE our videos with your friends, AND COMMENT! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET TO KNOW US MORE DEEPLY? It would be an honor and pleasure to deepen our relationship with you as a Patron. In this episode we sail the boat south to Bodø. We got in contact with a really nice lady who wanted to rent her slip out to us. We are exited about the fact that Argo is going to be tucked in behind the big breakwater for the winter. Also we invite ourselves aboard the Energy Observer, which is a floating laboratory. They are on a world tour for 6 years, testing out the technology of producing their own hydrogen from seawater electrolysis. Also using sun and wind. This boat is running selfsuffiently. Sailing in Northern Norway is the number one activity for us, Marena and Roger Leivseth. We love our Argo, which is a German built Bavaria 31 Cruiser, 2008. Sailing is giving us rest, peace and energy. In these beautiful surroundings it is always a pleasure to take our beloved sailboat out for a cruise. We live up north in Norway, in Fauske, just north of the Arctic circle close to the Lofoten Islands. We experience the midnight sun during summers and polar nights during the winters. Our sailing season usually starts in the end of March due to the polar nights and temperatures way below freezing during winter. We normally end the sailing season in October for the same reasons. We are very fortunate to live in these surroundings with the love for sailing. The nearby areas are lovely places to visit, both fjords, archipelagos and islands in open sea. Hopefully you want to follow along our journey so that you can experience the northern parts of Norway through our videos :-) Subscribe to: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRAS2FLydKqiLDYtluePwBw?

We arrive in St. Martin to an anchorage covered in boat! It was more boats than we had ever seen. All of our boat friends were here and we were excited. We anchored our boat and then headed into town to meet up with friends, try out the new pastries and check it all out. Afterwards we took the dinghy to the other side of St. Martin, St. Martin. We picked up a few things we needed and checked out the adorable town. We came back to the boat and started doing our usual clean-up and laundry. Kami wasn't feeling too well from the passage so she took it easy. Easton's ear infections weren't healing so he was on strict orders to stay out of the water. That didn't last long. The next morning Steve and I did a run/hike to the top of the hill on St. Martin. We overlooked the anchorage. When we got back to the boat Karver pulled his tooth out all by himself! Later that day we walked to the grocery store. It was one of the prettiest well kept stores we had seen. The produce looked so fresh and amazing! That evening Brett and Brett Jr. on Colette joined us. The next day Steve and Eric on the boat Teek took off on a long run to the other side of the island. They were both exhausted when they got back. Too bad though because today was the day we went to see the low flying planes! Maho Beach is a popular spot where the airplanes fly in real low over the beach. People everywhere come to see it. It was pretty fun to take all the boys. We had a blast! Teek also came with us. When we got back to the boat the kids all did water sports. Pulling behind the dinghy, tubing, wakeboarding, e-foiling you name it! Afterwards Steve took some kids to snorkel a large rock and do a little cliff jumping. They saw some turtles and sea life and had a blast. That evening the adults and older kids all went out to a fancy dinner. We tried new foods like snails. It was so fun and so nice! The next day we changed anchorages to a more remote area with hardly anyone around. Just our buddy boats. As a family we walked into town to the grocery store, only to realize it was a french holiday and it was closed. The kids were so annoyed. We hitch hiked back which was nice. We then lifted anchor and moved to a little remote island with just our buddy boat family. We had a blast on the beach that day and then that night all the kids got the wild idea that they wanted to set up camp and camp on the beach. It was so cute seeing how excited they were and all the prep they put into it. They made beds and bathrooms you name it! It's also cute to see the older kids hanging with the younger ones. They were loud and having a blast all night. The next morning Steve went onto shore to pick them all up. Malia was exhausted. The boys were too. That day all the boats left in different directions. We headed around the corner of St. Martin to do a big provision before heading to St. Barts. We anchored in a sketchy area that was pretty shallow. We left the kids on the boat and Steve and I rented a tiny car and headed into town to hit up the Cost Plus (Which is like a Costco) and some other stores. We did a huge haul! On the way back we got stuck in Carnival traffic which was fun to see. The women have many different costumes and everyone is so happy. The kids helped us unload groceries and put them all away. This process takes forever and the kids are such troopers! I love how we work together as a family to get it done. The next morning we lifted anchor and started our sail to St. Barts. Steve had Malia do all the captain work. She was at the helm and did it all, I was so proud. The boys fished along the way, but there was so much sargasm it made it tough. We made it to St. Barts and it looked absolutely stunning!
