Naturally, our staff plays an integral role in our risk management strategy. Most team members are multi-talented, combining professional training and practical expertise with the more traditional university, graduate, and post-graduate degree education. Our staff includes U.S. Coast Guard, and MCA licensed captains, marine scientists, oceanographers, medically trained personnel, and PADI scuba instructors. The Student to staff ratio is typically 4:1, providing close interaction and individual attention. Along with the majority of the world's highest quality yachts, Seamester schooners proudly fly the red ensign. The U.K. Ship Registry is renowned for its high international standards of maritime safety, and each vessel undergoes a thorough annual inspection to maintain its classification. In addition to our standard safety equipment, such as personal flotation devices, tethers and harnesses, EPIRBS, immersion suits, and liferafts, the ability to communicate effectively is essential in mitigating risk. We have an established communication protocol, and utilizing satellite connectivity, our teams can communicate by voice or data anywhere on the planet. To add additional support, we partner with an international emergency response firm to provide integrated medical assistance for the remote environments we operate in. Our partner provides us world-class medical advice, security services, and evacuation coordination anywhere in the world. Risk management is a partnership, so we rely on our students taking an active role in maintaining their own safety. The other week the Narrowboat Noob crew (me and mum!) were in Wales for a week in a holiday cottage in Talsarnau. These are some of our adventures. Before you ask why I didn't go away on the boat, this cottage had been booked from before I bought the boat, plus I love Wales and there's not a lot of it you can explore by canal sadly!

Light breeze in the morning followed by dancing in the evening: Day two of the Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy was a celebration with friends and family both on and off the water. Day two of the Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy saw the Rendezvous fleet head off for a leisurely morning sail around the Monaci island, but put a few Southern Wind yachts on the water and watch what happens: SW82 Ammonite and SW96 Sorceress were soon engaged in a spectacular luffing match.

Emerald Bay dive site. The Jewel in Tulamben. This site can be reached with a 10min ride by Jukung, just to the south east of Tulamben Bay. For the more adventures, this can also be a shore dive, but be aware of the fisherman in the small bay. They don’t like scuba divers swimming over their fishing lines . Basically one ‘step’ on from Batu Kelebit, with an average depth of 20m. A sloping reef, beginning in a small bay, will lead you over dramatic and beautiful ridges covered in a variety of hard coral and amazing sponge formations, eventually leading to a sandy bottom at around 50 meter. You will find a good amount of marine animals including large pelagic fish in the deeper water. Although most of the time, the water is calm, strong currents can turn this into a drift dive. On calm days, open water divers can also enjoy this dive site since the shallower water has some impressive and healthy coral teaming with vibrant reef fish. If you want to go for a picnic, the table and seat is close to the bay entry point and at 14m. Enjoy your picnic. From there it was a case of the rich getting richer, primarily down to some fine execution, and near-perfect tactical race-craft by Spithill and co-helm Francesco Bruni, who established a lead in excess of 30 seconds before keeping a loose cover on the British, who simply could not find any opportunity to get back into the contest. A 46-second winning delta was the final reward for the Italian crew.

In this episode, we take on Sweden’s highest peak climbing Mount Kebnekaise. It turned out to be one of the toughest hikes we’ve done so far. The trail took us over steep rocky slopes, across Björlings Glacier with crampons strapped on, and then up a via ferrata section — which, by the way, Jeanette thought was the best part. After more than 11 hours on the mountain, we finally reached the summit at 2,097 meters, or 6,879 feet. This climb was one of the adventures we’d planned on our motorcycle journey up to North Cape — the northernmost point of Europe. [English version] Our lucky farmers are continuing their journey aboard Red Rocket, the first RM1080 to come out of the RM shipyards. This week, they discovered the absolutely splendid landscapes of the island of Fuerteventura, with its immense dunes, turquoise beaches, mountainous and desert landscapes dotted with lush villages! The island is also home to Barbary squirrels, which were very playful with our sailors. For their final stopover in the Canaries, Arnaud, Martine and their two children made a stopover in Lanzarote, after a crossing from Fuerteventura which took place in dream conditions aboard the RM1080: flat seas and a reaching leg. These conditions were ideal for setting the boat's new speed record! The sailing ended with the first night at anchor in Playa Quemada: a deserted beach of black sand, bordered by dunes, which provided a superb playground for the children. La réponse du jeune marin ne s'est pas fait attendre : il prendra le départ de cette 8e édition de l'Everest des mers, et son premier tour du monde en solitaire ! A 29 ans, il en est l'un des plus jeunes concurrents. C'est Kaïros, l'écurie fondée en 2007 et dirigée par Roland Jourdain et Sophie Vercelletto, qui assure la gestion du projet, tant pour la préparation technique du bateau que la préparation sportive de Morgan. Le 26 avril 2016, Morgan Lagravière en bouclant un parcours de 1 500 milles en solitaire, se qualifiait officiellement pour le Vendée Globe.
