Well got it out to the country and the lights were great, the Goofit CDI and tuneup made it run like a beast, but the audio package needs help. The Boss filters did not do enough to filter the engine noise, and the power draw of the amp and sub were to much for the current electrical system. The drive was longer, if the camera would have keep recording for the entire ride, did get the ATV up to 45 mph driving with only one arm, it would go faster, but I did not dare while I thought I was recording. This we are going to add another type of battery, as soon as I am not working so much I will through more time at this project. Right now between getting my oldest ready to take on the world, and the normal drag of working for the man, my plate is full. Le Trophée Jules Verne, tour du monde sans escale et en équipage, est détenu depuis janvier 2012 par Loïck Peyron et l'équipage du maxi-trimaran (40 m) Banque Populaire V en 45 j 13 h et 42 min, à la moyenne de 19,75 noeuds pour une distance orthodromique d'environ 21.600 milles. Les six hommes partiront dès l'ouverture d'une fenêtre météo intéressante, peut-être dès fin octobre. "Le plus tôt possible, en tout cas", indique Joyon dans un communiqué. Les cinq équipiers de Joyon, originaires d'horizons très différents et très polyvalents, sont les Français Gwénolé Gahinet et Clément Surtel, le Suisse Bernard Stamm, l'Espagnol Alex Pella et l'Allemand Boris Herrmann. Diving Remote reefs and going bananas! We head south from Pangai and dive the remote Wickham reef with our friends Cat, Brodie and Travis from SV Citation. The bananas that we bought at the market all ripen at once, leading to some creative banana recipes onboard both boats. We explore Ha'afeva island before heading back to Pangai to check out of the Ha'apai group for the last time. We show how we make large gauge battery cables cheap for our audio amplifiers and high amp alternator. In this Jeep, we have upgraded to a high output alternator, installed a 1,200 watt Skar Amp, and just needed larger cables to carry the current. Looking at heavy gauge wire we found that jumper cables are almost half the cost compared to jump buy heavy gauge wire so why not cut cost in our project. Our video goes over why we went with jumper cables versus just buying raw wire for our high amp project. We show how to cut and strip the wire only using the cable cutters. You never want to strip more of the wire than you need, it is easy to measure so you won't have an issue with an electrical short. The Wire Crimp Is Important When crimping heavy gauge wire, a good cable lug crimper is a must. In the past, I have used a hammer to crimp wires, not a great solution. The hammer solution has cause cable terminations to fail, would not recommend this. Get a good set of cutters and crimpers, we have a link below to what we used. Why Use Heat Shrink When Wiring Heat shrink is very important for electrical cable installations, we highly recommend it. For smaller wires, we like to use heat shrink butt and wire connectors. Not only does it protect your wires from shorting out, but it also helps prevent your cable termination from being pulled out. For a jeep, boat, or anything else where the wire terminations may get wet, this is a must. We get started at sunrise with the hope of catching some wind and we have to beat a channel closing on the the way to Offatts Bayou. Once we get there we enjoy a prime anchoring spot and explore some recent ship wrecks on the dinghy. We also scout a route to Galveston Harbor where we will be next week to sail on the Tall Ship Elissa. The ride home is full of adventure as well as we set a new record of 9 kts on Cavu.
