The third and last stage of the project “AZIMUT BENETTI YACHTMASTER SUPERYACHTING ON A GLOBAL SCALE” was succesfully held in Miami 3-5 May 2017

Cascais turned on the conditions for which it is famous – 25 knot winds and sunshine - for day two of the RC44 Cascais Cup. Again it was a day with three different winners and mixed results for all. Kirill Frolov’s Bronenosec Sailing Team scored the first bullet of the day, in the first race of the day when a team has led from start to finish in the tricky conditions off the Portuguese sailing mecca. Race two was claimed by Alexander Novoselov’s Katusha, so far the only boat in the series to have won two races. There was much excitement in race three as Artemis Racing Youth, skippered by Gustaf Lidvall and with Artemis Racing’s America’s Cup skipper Nathan Outteridge calling tactics, led around the first mark. The young Swedes fended off a strong challenge from John Bassadone’s Peninsula Petroleum to claim the final race of the day, with the added complication of thick fog that obscured the top mark and the competition on the final leg to the finish. The RC44 Cascais Cup is the fourth event of the 2017 RC44 Championship Tour, which pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts. I dag var det så höstigt så jag måste bara kolla klippen från sommarens Mälarsegling. Inte en droppe regn och runt 30 grader i luften och 24 grader i vattnet. Slandö kalv, Mariefred, Strängnäs, Sundbyholm och sist Enköping. Det blåste nästan hela tiden.

Footage from the training at Weir Wood SC 23rd October 2021. The focus of the day was mark rounding. An area of the course where place gains and losses are common. The course around the buoy is critical to a good rounding especially at the leeward mark, where not getting on a close hauled course can lead to large losses. This is particularly common in lighter winds. Some good examples of gains and losses due to this can be seen from the footage.
