It is finally done! Muahahahaha (evil laugh)... The painting is finally done! After 9 weeks of work, removing all our old Petit (2 part EZ Poxy) paint, building up layer after layer of primer, and trying my hand at Awl Grip for the first time, our paint on the cabin top and cockpit is now complete. 3 coats overall, and she's looking good! We also had the travel lift come to hoist us up a few feet so we could reblock to be able to remove the old paint and put new paint where the blocks had been sitting. The centerboard also gets removed for our painting...and it's our first chance ever to see it! Cheers from the work yard! Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. This week we are switching gears so that we keep the ball rolling. We decided to change the color of the boat! This is a bit scary, but also very exciting! We are excited to share this process with all of you and we hope that you love the outcome as much as we do! Alexseal Paint: https://www.alexseal.com/resources/color-selection/topcoat/img/image/t5159-ice-blue-2 -We used the roll additive as well, this allows us to hand roll the paint without needing to tip with a brush afterwords. Flexible Epoxy: https://www.totalboat.com/product/thixo-flex-thick-flexible-epoxy-adhesive/ -This is the product that we used to reinforce the gelcoat cracks in the starboard sugar scoop. Welcome to episode 4! This is the first of two episodes based in the Caribbean yachting centre of Sint Maarten/Saint Martin. This week we enter Simpson Bay Lagoon and get settled in the anchorage for a week of boat maintenance, buying new boat toys and getting stuck into the social scene (hello $1 beers!). We're very excited to buy a new RIB and outboard which allows us to zip around the lagoon like no-one's business. We also get front row seats to some windy weather-related drama, namely a yacht dragging its anchor and being rescued by the coast guard, and a superyacht having a world of trouble getting into the marina. After a fun night out at our new 'local', Lagoonies, we return home to find our masthead lights are not working- you know what that means! Yes, a trip up the mast for Terysa to change the bulbs over. Nerve wracking for her, but good for you as you get some awesome views over the lagoon! As always, there is an accompanying post over on our website www.yachtrubyrose.com for those wanting a tad more detail or if you want to read up on 3 years worth of adventures. Dreams are boundless when they exist only in our minds, that’s what makes them so beautiful. But when they collide with real life, they must conform to the laws of the universe. The reality of keeping a dream alive can be daunting. The litany of details to organize and track, the monotony of boring tasks, the sheer amount of effort involved to accomplish what was a simple thought can dull the luster of even the most vivid dreams. After years of dreaming, scheming and working to get our new boat in the water, one month of sailing went by in a flash. Folding up the trimaran and pulling her back out of the water felt like folding up a dream. Now, with a massive project list in hand, we must put in the effort to keep the dream alive.

All of our sailboat repair and maintenance blogs are now hosted on our dedicated maintenance channel, MOTHERSHIP MAINTENANCE Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/c/mothershipmaintenance. Follow the link to this video here: https://youtu.be/fm9wnwzHPII Sailboat repair and maintenance blogs are now hosted on our dedicated maintenance channel, MOTHERSHIP MAINTENANCE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqQh0D5F_gZsF4mw-Qw-XJA The Injectors on our Volvo Penta TMD 22 had never been checked since we bought the boat in 2017, over 2000 engine hours ago. In that time a small leak had developed in injector three so as we were in the Canary Islands preparing to cross the Atlantic, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get them removed and checked. I had never changed diesel injectors before so called in a local mechanic, but filmed, asked questions and took notes so I could put together this ‘How to’ blog so I could do it for myself next time. Injector three had poor clearance but as the spray was functioning fine, we reinstalled all the injectors with new washers and gaskets and after some problems with return lines and compression loss, we got them up and running again with a note to replace them all next in out 1500-2000 hours, which coincidently falls more or less the same time as the next timing belt change. Even though Puerto de Las Palmas Marina in Gran Canaria is a relatively cheap marina, the mechanic’s rate was €50/hour which was the most we’ve paid for a mechanic anywhere in Europe, but we were grateful that Jorge from Man Diesel Services for kindly letting us film him and to Augustine the OCC port officer for arranging it. Although these videos show maintenance work on a TMD22 marine diesel engine, many components and assembly techniques are similar across the Volvo Penta range, including: MD22L; MD22P; MD22L-B; MD22P-B; TMD22-B; TMD22P-C; TAMD22P-B; HS25A; HS25A-B; 120S-E; MS2A-E; MS2L-E; MS2B-L; TMD22B PLEASE NOTE: YouTube have disabled comments on most of our video blogs (and on other family channels) due to safeguarding issues regarding minors on the YouTube platform. The 210 Sunreef Power Trimaran is the avant-garde of megayacht design and the ultimate expression of engineering expertise. An ambitious 210ft three-hulled concept, it fully utilizes the space within and between the hulls to reach a living area of nearly 1000m². The yacht’s upper deck features an aft terrace giving access to a grand dining room, an internal navigation station, a gym space and the captain’s cabin. The main deck stretches over 510m² of entirely customizable surface. The optional layout comprises six guest cabins, all fitted with large double beds, each facing retractable private balconies. Placed forward is the stately master suite with panoramic widows, twin dressing rooms, an office and access to a private front terrace. The saloon features a main lounging space placed amidships and four relaxing scenic areas with floor to ceiling glass windows. The lower level is entirely devoted to the crew. Accessed through the water toys garage storing two jets skis and sea bobs, the central hull houses a fully equipped galley, dining and sleeping quarters, a laundry and large storage areas. All three levels of the megayacht are connected with an elevator and a spiral staircase. The vessel’s outdoor social area features an immense flybridge, a cockpit opening onto the saloon as well as terraces at the front and aft. The primary tender for up to 12 is stowed in the foredeck along with the crew dinghy.

Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V700 with a Rode External mic with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action, underwater scenes and small blogging is done with two Osmo action cams. Some boat shots are done with a Dji gimbal camera. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. After some great days we leave the island of Ven and sail back towards our home port in Malmö, but on the way we make a stop in the lovely seaside village Barsebäckshamn. We don’t have much wind but at least we get to try out our new whisker pole set-up! We are a Swedish couple who have sailed the world since 2016 while sharing the adventures here on YouTube. 118' Millennium 2003 [ARTHUR'S WAY] Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Asking Price: $4,000,000 Yacht Broker: Justin Nystedt / (954) 654-5783 / JN@DenisonYachting.com Megayacht Price, Specs + Photos: https://hubs.ly/H0xYP1D0 A unique opportunity to own the only Millennium Super Yacht currently on the market worldwide. Renowned for building high quality, strong, yet light weight super yachts, the Millennium yard is most famous for launching a 140' vessel capable of seventy knots, with a honeycomb infused hull design for strength, and weight considerations. "Arthur's Way" was designed the same way. Just one step into her expansive main salon and you'll notice magnificent burl wood joinery, a marble floor entry, and breathtaking views. A large salon and dining area are full beam making this space feel like a much larger yacht. An on-deck, split level Master Stateroom w/ a 270-degree view and private office is awaiting forward. Below deck, you will find 3 additional guest cabins, all with their own en suite. The VIP cabin is full beam, and rivals a master cabin on most vessels in this size range. The crew quarters sleep six in three cabins, and are accessed separately from the aft of the vessel. There is a large tender garage under the aft deck, that doubles as a beach club. Designed by acclaimed superyacht designer Frank Mulder. Mulder was quoted, "This friendly design, coupled with the highest standards of engineering, safety, hi-speed and reliable long-range cruising, make the yacht a perfect balance of elegance and dependability which also packs an incredible amount of power and performance." The incredibly innovative interior was designed by Evan Marshall. About the interior of Arthur's Way, Marshall offered the following words, "A reflection of the new millennium as the design is an ideal blend of the classic and the modern. A fusion of several themes, the interior manages to capture the essence of the classical and merge it with the modern to create a picture of elegant functionality." About the intelligent use of space in the main salon, Marshall offers, "The design has also been carefully selected to allow for customer preferences and leaves ample room for customization in accordance with individual preferences." The preferences of her current owner have been a diverse use of space including a cocktail bar comprised of natural stone, a formal cocktail lounge, formal dining, and a retractable movie theatre. All of this while enjoying nearly floor to ceiling windows throughout this space. There is so much aboard this yacht to fall in love with, including an expansive sun deck, sunrises from the privacy of your master suite, a hidden candy locker in the main salon, and a dumb waiter to the galley. ------------------------------------------------- Justin Nystedt C: 954.654.5783 O: 954.763.3971 JN@DenisonYachting.com 0:00 Introduction 1:47 Sundeck 2:50 Upper Helm 4:08 Foredeck 4:28 Swim Platform + Garage 4:50 Aft Deck 5:45 Salon 5:58 Galley + Crew Deck 6:28 Engine Room 7:04 Salon Part 2 8:42 Owners office 9:01 Master Stateroom 10:06 Maindeck Foyer 10:25 Guest Staterooms 12:05 Outro Musicbed SyncID: MB01RCRWIAXLFDC

In this episode I build a Round Bottom or Hollowing Plane. This plane is also referred to as a Coopering Plane, which is a hand plane, meant to create a concave surface. This is an important tool for a shipwright who is “backing out planks” in carvel planking. The construction method used on this razee plane is in the Krenov style. This type of construction is done by laminating the plane with several pieces of wood, as opposed to the old method of mortising out the throat of the plane. In designing my plane I was taken by a Jack Plane I saw in The Unplugged Woodshop that Tom Fidgen had built. In my plane, not only is the bottom rounded, but also I increased the length and made the handle larger to fit my hand better. In 1981 Ron Hock began making blades for Krenov’s planes, and is still the leading manufacturer of this style of blade. Because I’m making a round bottom plane, I would have to alter a purchased iron, so I decided I would make my own iron from some O1 tool steel. “If you’re going to make it, make it beautiful.” -Bob Emser- PLANS FOR THE PLANE Patrons at the Skipper or above tier get free access to the plan for the Hollowing Plane. https://www.patreon.com/posts/plans-for-curved-71547177 Subscribe for more Boat Building from The Art of Boat Building: https://www.youtube.com/user/bobemser/featured?sub_confirmation=1 Share this video with a friend: https://youtu.be/js9X79V7Jto How to support The Art of Boat Building. Weltumsegelung | Blauwasser | Langfahrt. Sailing Rebecca Childress just completed a 16+ year circumnavigation on her bluewater sailboat Brick House. The first 13 years was with her husband Patrick Childress who then passed from Covid 19 in South Africa before they could finish together. She decided to finish her circumnavigation and carried on for another 3 years, nearly 7,000 miles to the Caribbean with captain Michael Hayward from South Africa, and then as captain herself, with crew from Grenada to the USA, another 2000 miles. After settling in to Brunswick Landing Marina in Brunswick, GA for a few months, she decided to sell her amazing bluewater sailboat. The responsibility of owning an offshore sailboat, was taking a huge toll on her health and happiness and she decided to start over in an RV. Her last SAILING video on her channel tells the story of why she decided to put up her beloved sailboat for sale, and move on to an RV to explore the USA. She will continue this channel as an RV Life channel rather than a sailing channel now. The end of an Era. The beginning of another. Going forward, she will cruise on her new land yacht, or motor yacht called "RV Brick House" and will continue this channel comparing and contrasting her new RV life with her old Sailing life. But can she stay away from sailing? Time will tell. The new owners of SV Brick House will start their own sailing channel called "Sailing Brick House with Captain Dave". Their first video is linked below. Be sure to follow their adventures! SV Brick House surely has another circumnavigation in her! Will Rebecca sail again? Stay subscribed to find out, and to follow what happens next in her RV life and her sailing life!

We get invited by the owner of a brand new HH 55 catamaran to go to Little Cayman Island about 75 miles away...we jump at the chance for a long weekend on a luxury catamaran. The HH55 sails beautifully and we get to Little Cayman in the early evening going to windward and tacking the whole way but we are rewarded with crystal clear water, nice coral and beautiful beaches. Margarida is having a ball, this is her type of trip. There is plenty of smooching but technical difficulties get in the way so not much is seen. Enjoy! Give it a thumbs up if you liked this episode! Keep the Adventures Coming! https://www.patreon.com/nahoa Tonga, the unexpected Oasis. When we set off this season, Tonga was on the list but it was heavily overshadowed by the likes of French Polynesia, Marquesas and the Cook Islands. The focus was on places like Bora Bora, Mo'orea and Aitutaki. So let me tell you, we were very surprised by how much we LOVE Tonga. LOVE! Tonga is a Sovereign nation and the first of such we have visited in our Pacific Island tour. It has a different vibe. An authentic one. With 196 islands, only 36 are inhabited. You can can catch a bit of island life or truly get away from it all. In this Adventure, we land in the Vava’u group in the town of Neiafu to check in with customs. The town is a bustling place with markets full of fish and veg. Crazy little Chinese shops stuffed with everything you could need. And a Moorings charter fleet that helps the economy sustain many friendly Yachty bars and restaurants. We were hooked right away and decided that this is where we would spend the last couple months of our season before heading south to get away from cyclone territory. The beauty of the Tongan Kingdom is stunning. The beaches are pristine and the people welcoming to their villages. Follow along as we test our limits while free diving in and around Mariner’s and Swallow’s Caves, skim the warm waters in some of the best kite boarding sessions we have had to date. Not to mention the creepiest of spiders with a weird golden web. The Kindom of Tonga holds a very special place in our heart.
