If you've got some gelcoat that needs buffing, whether it's heavy oxidation or just needs a little love; the same process I use will work great. I highly recommend all of the products I used, and I wouldn't steer you wrong like others did to me. I learned the hard way, and if you use all these things combined, you won't need anything more. For instance, I used a different wool pad at first and it didn't have the arbor in the middle, and the core of the buffer cracked some of my gelcoat as I couldn't lay the pad flat. The list above works in tandem perfectly. I researched, and researched, and researched to bring you this video and products, in order to help get the job done with minimal costs, and at or close to a professional level. If you have any questions, comment and I'll do my best to answer. Again, I researched a ton, and after working the entirety of a 40 ft boat, I learned even more along the way. A bit more about the sailing side of things - put the new assy up for the first time, (much needed investment after one HUNDRED too many times of being becalmed and going a little/lot crazy…) the halliard broke and fell down, broken winch with no spare parts onboard ... but luckily Jack who is a professional 'bicycle mechanic' back in Australia sorted it out for us (cheers Jack). It's something that I've often thought about.... What would you do if you got a breech in your hull and started taking on water? We got to practice in a real life scenario when a boat dropped their hook super close to Delos and asked for our assistance. We have an emergency! We’re taking on water! Yelled the boat that just dropped it’s hook right next to us. By the time we arrived the water was nearly to the top of their port engine, dangerously close to the air intake and already seeping through the holes in their bulkhead. We immediately sprung into action with our crash pump, and one from another boat as well. It turns out the boat had struck something trying to leave the anchorage, which bent the rudder back and caused a breach in their hull. With a make-shift repair we were were able to slow the leak enough to give us enough time for a salvage boat to arrive with bigger pumps. The first, noticeable as soon as you approach her, is the attractive "cappuccino" color of her hull which accentuates her lines and hints at the earth tones and associated ideas evident in her interior. The talented designers at Tamsen Yachts have created a yacht with a length of 40 meters ‐ 131 feet, with deck areas and interior spaces that give the feeling of a much larger vessel. This was partly achieved by providing particularly generous headroom on the main and lower decks which, for example, in the main saloon at 2.47m easily surpasses that of many recent yachts of 50m and above Namaste's contemporary Asian interior decoration is a testament to the origins of her name. Trying to cross the Java Sea, slowly everything becomes against us. At least we can smile! https://www.sailingnandji.com This week on Sailing Nandji, we continue our passage West towards Malaysia and our new engine. We had already been at sea for 6 days as we had a following sea and favourable wind to keep sailing across the Java Sea. The dream run could not last forever though as we are hit by a squall and it leaves us drifting with no wind in the hot sun. Finally reaching land fall after 9 days at sea, we rest up, run on the beach and then head back to sea battling terrible weather with squall after squall. Trying to sail with all the elements stacked against us, things break and make this next passage a real struggle and our hardest challenge to date! Determined to reach Malaysia and our new motor, we push on and battle our way across the Java Sea. We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We have been in Indonesia for a couple of months cruising and are now high tailing to Malaysia for boat work. We departed Australia 18 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, met some amazing people and experienced cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it!
