We're truly thrilled to be wrapping up this challenging chapter - our second haul out of our steel Adams 35 during peak wet season! Amidst the spontaneous showers, we've persevered through the boatwork with our eyes and hearts set on the horizon. It's been a testing time for us, having much to do and little means to do it (weather not-permitting) 🤪 But with help from our friends and a whole year of cruising to look forward to, we're doing the best with what we've got, hoping that Innerbloom wears this botched anti-foul job as best as she can! We’re a little behind on our videos - we’re just having too much fun! So to connect with us in real time, you can find us on our new FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61551024568844 For ad-free and early release episodes, behind the scenes content and live updates, check out our Patreon! We took off a letter and added a few. Innerbloom is a homage to a song beloved by us from an Australian electronic band, Rufus Du Sol. - 1985 Joe Adams design. 35ft. Steel. Fin keel. Sloop rig. Around 12 tonnes. - Aft cabin, centre cockpit and a v-berth brimming with tools, equipment and vitamins for Sonya.

#boatfoolssailing #williamtripp #sailing #sailboatforsale #barnfind Only 15 Made — We Found One for $39K | LeComte Northeast 38 MKII TOUR Ahoy BoatFools Nation! Every once in a while, a boat shows up that stops us in our tracks. This is one of those boats. Canadian Ken and I were tipped off to what can only be described as a true barn find — a 1966 LeComte Northeast 38 MKII, owned by the same family for more than 20 years and now quietly coming to market. And here’s the kicker… Only 15 of these Mark II models were ever built. Designed by legendary naval architect William H. Tripp Jr. and built in Holland by LeComte Yachts, the Northeast 38 represents a golden era of yacht design — where performance, craftsmanship, and beauty were expected to coexist. The perfect boat for the nostalgic mariner... CHAPTERS: 00:00 Opener 00:23 Intro to this STUNNER! 02:12 Keel, Rudder & Topsides 06:17 HUGE Cockpit 09:47 Up to the Bow 14:00 Below Deck 16:11 Galley & Nav Station 18:25 The Head 19:10 V-Berth 21:11 The Diesel! 24:03 Final Thoughts And this one? She absolutely delivers. What Makes This Boat Special: Timeless lines that turn heads in any harbor Solid fiberglass hull + Airex-cored decks (no soft, wet wood-cored decks!) Sea-kindly motion and proven offshore pedigree Classic teak interior with that unmistakable warmth With an LOA of 38’3” and a narrow, elegant beam, this is a boat that feels every bit like a proper offshore thoroughbred. The Market Reality: Comparable Northeast 38s have recently listed between $42K–$49K. This one? $39,000. And when you factor in condition, pedigree, and sheer rarity… it starts to feel like something more than just a listing. TO CONTACT THE SELLER FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE EMAIL: joel.rackliffe@gmail.com ⚠️ The Pattern We Keep Seeing After touring more than 100 sailboats, we’ve noticed something: Some boats don’t sit. They get chosen. And boats like this — honest, well-kept, and quietly exceptional — tend to disappear fast. So the question is: Is this one of those boats? If you’re into classic sailboats, bluewater designs, or just appreciate a boat that was built when things were done right… this is one you don’t want to miss. ⚓ Let us know in the comments: Would you take this over a modern production boat? See you next time! -BoatFools Sailing Team Real boats, real people, real fun! Sailboats for the Rest of Us! Join us for full boat tours, expert insights, and sailing adventures—all with a touch of humor.

This one tested us 😅 We took on the steep and slippery climb up Isabel de Torres in Puerto Plata—and it was no joke. Muddy trails, sketchy footing, and a serious leg burn… but the view at the top made every step worth it. Sitting above the city with a mini botanical garden and that iconic statue, it’s one of the most rewarding hikes we’ve done in the Dominican Republic. We made it down just before sunset and headed into historic downtown Puerto Plata for dinner, soaking in the colorful streets as well as umbrellas and local vibes. Back in Luperón, the adventure didn’t stop. We explored Playa Chiquita with unique wooden sculptures, and hiked out to a hidden blowhole and coastal cliffs—one of those wild, off-the-beaten-path spots we love. Then it was time to check out of Luperón… and get ready for what’s next. Power Up: Installing Your Budget Lithium System—and Keeping It Safe: https://www.practical-sailor.com/systems-propulsion/electrical/power-up-installing-your-budget-lithium-system-and-keeping-it-safe STOP wasting money on faulty boat gear! In this exclusive deep-dive, Practical Sailor reveals the 4 worst products and maintenance mistakes that routinely fail in our long-term testing, costing sailors thousands in repairs and wasted time. You bought a sailboat to sail, not to fix broken gear. Based on decades of unbiased product testing, we expose the items and chemicals you need to avoid if you want to keep your boat safe, corrosion-free, and operational. Learn the truth about why "bargain" products become the most expensive mistake on the water. We cover everything from major fire hazards to the simple household cleaner that is actively destroying your sanitation system seals. In this video, we answer these critical questions: • Which gelcoat "gimmicks" look great for a month but require expensive removal later? • What are the major fire risks associated with non-marine electrical cords and poor wiring terminations? • Why do cheap, land-based 12V coolers and dehumidifiers always fail in the marine environment? (The corrosion trap). • What is the #1 product sailors use to clean their head that actually destroys joker valves and causes worse holding tank odor? Don't risk system failure or compromise your safety. Watch now to start buying smart!
