Sailing Free Spirit. We Changed the name of the vessel and added her new name, changed out the aniode on the copper plate on the bottom and completed the fuel inspection of the 2nd tank. We lost a bunch of video (or I just plain forget to hit record) so we don’t have the video of the 1st tank inspection. That tank was also full of diesel fuel however, that one was in perfect condition. The 2nd tank that we inspected today was bad and not able to be used. We wound up having someone come out to clean out both tanks, polish the good fuel and dispose of the bad fuel. So overall just about one full tank of fuel so that was excellent news. The Fjord 53XL offers so much protection from the sun it has become a truly versatile party platform that I personally dream of holidaying the Med aboard and then bringing home to Australia for years of adventures. The bottom of Free Spirit has work being done with her and we were asked not to film the workers. They are removing the old blue paint and taking her down to the barrier coat which is red and will apply new barrier and anti-foul. They are also working on removing all of the old thru hulls so they can be replaced. This is work that we just aren’t able to complete due to time issues with us working during the week. The teak in the cock pit was being removed as there were several pieces missing or broken…. What we thought would be an easy project turns out not to be but since we started to remove the teak, it all has to come out… It will take several videos to show the progress of this as we mix it in with other projects over the upcoming weeks. WE BOUGHT A BOAT! We bought a sailboat to be more precise! We are a family from Airlie Beach, Australia who sold everything and traded suburban life for a life on the water. We are now a Sailing Family living out our dream to Sail Around the World. We have been searching for months for a catamaran and found a monohull we loved. We are now full time liveaboards on our boat, SV Endless Summer. After years of dreaming we decided to take a leap and put our house on the market -- and it SOLD WITHIN 24 HOURS! We then sold all our belongings, moved out of our house and packed up the bare minimum that we could fit into a Hyundai Getz and set off on a road trip. We wanted a catamaran and searched for months for the perfect Catamaran. We found her a little late because just days earlier she had been put under contract. After a month being on the road in and out of hotels, motels and airbnbs with a baby we decided to look at monohulls. At this point we had looked at close to 100 boats.
