The Galeon 450 HTC includes all the essentials for day and night entertaining, day boating and longer cruising. Equipped with Galeon’s famous Beach Mode, port and starboard gunwale/decks, an optional hydraulic swim platform and its two-cabin, two-head design with a full-beam master, this versatile vessel has been designed for owners who want big motoryacht functionality in a compact package. The Performance The engines. Both models are powered with twin Volvo Penta D6 480-hp diesels with V-drives. The D6 diesel was designed years ago expressly for the marine market and is not a warmed-over truck engines. This is one of the reasons that is so suitable for yachts and over the years it has proven itself to be reliable and relatively trouble-free. Volvo Penta has a large parts warehouse in the U.S. and delivery of replacement parts is generally prompt according to our sources. We only tested one of the models – the 450 HTC (Hardtop) which had an estimated test weight of 41,240 lbs. (18,701 kg), 1,982 lbs. (900 kgs.) less the flying bridge model. The boat’s beam is 13’8” (12.59 m). Wide open throttle (WOT) speed of the 450 HTC was 31.3 mph (27.2 knots) at 3730 RPM. As in all boats, vessels are rarely operated at top speed for more than a few minutes, so this number is not particularly meaningful Best cruise, which is to say the most economical speed at which to maximize planning or semi planning travel was found at 2750 RPM where she achieved 21 mph (18.3 knots) burning 25.4 gph getting .7 nautical miles for a range of 290 nautical miles. This range is typical for a boat of this size. Sailing the world can be dangerous. Storms, rogue waves, strong currents, and poorly charted waters. We are constantly forced to confront nature in these risky situations And not only have I come to terms with that fact, its actually one of my favorite aspects of this lifestyle. There is something elevating about grappling with the harsh, indifferent aspects of nature and reaping the rewards. But this week we deal with a very different kind of danger, one that I feel much less comfortable with… other boaters, lots and lots of other boaters. For the last couple of weeks we’ve been exploring the Southern Ionian Islands of Greece, which are a bit off the beaten path and not terribly crowded but now that we’re in the Northern Ionian Islands of Greece we find ourselves in one of the most popular cruising grounds in the world and unfortunately due to the delays we experienced by Isabella's medical appointments, we are here in the busiest time of year. Now if the hoards of boats were simply making these pristine anchorages feel crowded, I wouldn't mind so much but time and again we find ourselves forced into situations that are down right dangerous. So it begs the question whether visiting one of the worlds most beautiful cruising grounds is worth the trouble. Ep 61 - Show install Its time to get some more projects done on this boat and getting her cruise ready. Today we work on getting the shower installed. It’s a rain shower with separate shower wand. This was a 2 day project and Andy of course, did the plumbing without video. But I was able to give the shower a good test! Love this shower and it’s the better than the shower we had at the house or in the RV. This is a complete luxury item for us and definitely worth the cost of putting in a home style shower. Nicole gets more acclimated to the boating life on our 1975 Islander 36, Misty on Lake Superior. Misty gets new cushions, new running ringing and a new transmission seal while I learn from my mistakes.

This Maritimo M55 has the potential to be the ultimate mothership for those of you who enjoy mucking about with water toys. The design has allowed for a pretty cool aft deck they are calling the Adventure Deck which features a handy storage space below that can store a second tender or plenty of toys. So imagine yourself anchored up with your RIB deployed and a second tender also in the water and available for the kids to use. The SUP boards and foiling boards can be inflated on the Adventure Deck and fun days ahead. Grandma and Grandpa could chill up on the flybridge watching over the kids, and when it's time for the whole family to get together you have some great options on both decks with loads of fresh air due to the big openning windows. But it's the shaft drive set up that actually sets this boat apart from many of the competition as IPS is definately more common these days on the big boats. I know many of you seek out shaft drive vessels and this will be one of the main reasons you buy a boat like this. Well in this test I discovered the upgraded twin disc joystick operation and how smooth and easy it is to operate combined with variable speed thrusters. This sytem was excellent and would make berthing a lot easier for many of you. And for those of you asking we finished the day with 1,500L in the main tank. Please remember the drive you see me doing in the video is actually done 3 times as I am also flying the drone which I use to give you the aerial images. If you know feel free to eductae me in the comments on how to activate the fuel flow readout on this boat as I could not find it. It's the flagship model of the Oceanic line from Canados. This superyacht gives you the capabilities of an expedition/explorer yacht combined with the speed of a fast planning hull.
