With Alaska Float Ratings on Crescent Lake near Moose Pass
http://www.startedsailing.com Alex Schulte explains the basics of sailing and shows how to dock and stop a sailboat. I DO NOT OWN THE COPYRIGHT TO THIS VIDEO!
A meditative start to a beautiful day at Crescent Lake, near Rockaway Beach on the Oregon coast. Cool dewdrops on lakeside leaves twinkle as the air starts to warm. The sun peaks over the coast range hills, and trees light up with the first light.
Next episode of our float plane training at Alaska Float Ratings in Moose Pass. Now we learned the basics it was time to combine next lessons with views of the amazing scenery in Alaska. In this part we fly, in seperate flights, over both Icefields on Kenai Peninsula. As part of the air safari we stop for the night at Tutka Bay lodge.

The last couple of days of our stay in Alaska we stayed in the Millenium hotel in Anchorage direct on Lake Hood. Lake Hood is the world's biggest float plane base and it's roaring with activity.

The Atlanta Yacht Club hosted Snipe Week 2009 the last week in October highlighted by the US Masters Championship. To compete in the Masters, the skipper must be at least 45 and the combination of skipper and crew must be at least 80. What you see is a lot of couples sailing together and a lot of older skippers sailing with much much younger crews. To keep it civilized, there are just two races a day and the fleet comes in if the winds get over 15. Its still Serious Sailing, but theres Serious Fun too. Coinciding with the Masters was the First Annual Snipe Wooden Boat Rally. There were some amazingly well restored boats on display that week and their owners were more than willing to tell you the provenance of their boats and all the tricks they learned to make the restoration possible. Theres not a Snipe event around that does not provide just as much fun off the water as they do on the water. This year there was Snipe Bingo one night and a chicken feed with a mountain band another night.

Back in November 2004, we went on a Canopy tour here in Puerto Vallarta with a group of friends. This Video is particularly funny since we were way over dressed (jungle attire) and were a lot heavier than we are now (2009). Enjoy!
A great video with an incredible amount of silky sharks in Malpelo island/Colombia. Thanks to German Soler from Malpelo Foundation. Check www.underseaventures.com for Malpelo Liveaboard Trips
http://nature-expeditions-peru.com/ecotourism-programs-prices/dolphin-watching-in-peru/ Dolphin watching in Peru: Dolphin watching gives value to nature and creates jobs in coastal communities. Dont miss our eco-dolphin watching tours at: http://nature-expeditions-peru.com/ecoturism-programs/dolphin-watching-in-peru/ In Peru it can be a tool against illegal killing of dolphins for human consumption. Up to 3000 dolphins still get killed each year. But if dolphin watching is badly done it is merely another threat to the species survival. The video explores cases of bad tourism practice in Paracas, Peru and shows alternatives.

HOBIE said FISH THE WORLD and we did. (Part 1 - South Carolina Hank Parker, Australia) We landed and released four-foot Pike in the shadows of castles in France and beneath the windmills of Holland. We laughed a lot and learned about fishing the French Broad and the farm ponds of North Carolina with Bass Fishing Hall of Fame member Hank Parker. In Australia we landed fish we had never heard of like the slate grey Sooty Grunter and fish well never forget like the Barramundi. Join us as we pedal the Pro Angler and the fleet of Hobie Kayaks on the Oxbows of the Mississippi, the Lower Owens in the Eastern Sierras, the Louisiana bayous, Corsica, and down the west coast of Baja Mexico.

Ken and Sylvianne Roberts bought their Krogen 48' North Sea prior to retirement and share what they love about the boat, the Kadey-Krogen service, and the Krogen family. The boat is big enough for them but also a size they can handle on their own, she's capable of cruising offshore, and she is built by a company who pays attention to detail as well as customer service.
