Day one action from the 2009 Sail Sydney regatta

Scuba Diving on Split Rock (Corsair Ledge) and Sea Cave on 12/2/09. Was an amazing couple of dives! The animal encounter at the end of the clip was one of the best that I have had. We got to the back of the Sea Cave & was empty. After several minutes in the back, they came up to us. I have not seen them this interested in us before. No diver approached the animals, as you can see they were vey curious about us. Usually they are solitary animals, was special to see two of them interact with each other in a nonconfrontational way.

Das Vokalensemble CANTABILE ist ein dynamisches Ensemble aus Belgien, welches aus 16 jungen Musikern besteht. Das Ensemble wurde 1995 gegründet und gliederte sich 1998 im Rahmen der Einstufung ostbelgischer Chöre erfolgreich in die Exzellenzstufe ein. Nach der überaus erfolgreichen Teilnahme an der Einstufung 2006 verlieh die Regierung der Deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft Belgiens dem Ensemble das Prädikat „mit besonderer künstlerischer Auszeichnung. CANTABILE setzt sich vor allem für den Chorgesang in kleiner, kammermusikalischer Besetzung ein. Das Repertoire umfasst weltliche und geistliche Literatur; es reicht von mittelalterlichen Gesängen bis hin zur zeitgenössischen Musik. Durch dieses Statut sind wir eine Art Kulturvertreter für den Deutschsprachigen Raum Belgiens geworden und singen seither im Auftrag der Deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft Belgiens. Hier haben wir anlässlich des "Tages der Deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft" dieses Konzert in der Sint-Salvator Kathedrahle in Brügge gegeben. Am 13.03.2010 sind wir übrigens ganz in der Nähe. Da singen wir ein Konzert in Essen in der Evangelischen Kirche am Heierbusch.

Na de vlucht van Cairns naar Darwin blijven we 1 nacht daar. Dan via Litchfield National Park naar Katherine, een uur of 3 rijden naar het zuiden. Daar gaan we een dag naar Katherine Gorge voordat we op Tindal airport door Slingair zullen worden opgepikt voor de air safari over de Kimberleys.

Vanuit Alaska zijn we via Vancouver een volledige dag onderweg naar Sydney (met datumgrens 2 dagen). Daar even dagje bijkomen voordat we doorvliegen naar Cairns voor een weekje Rainforest en Reef in North Queensland vanuit het Kewarra Beach resort in Palm Cove.

Behind the scenes look filming in the South Pacific. We travel by airliner, puddle-jumper, tuk-tuk, panga, and dingy to Vava'u, Tonga. It's worth it though, as we get a taste of crystal-clear blue waters, friendly natives, and comfortable trade winds.

Next trip after having enjoyed the real luxury of Tutka Bay was to fly to the real wilderness on the other side of the Cook Inlet to Stonewood Lodge. Sometimes it seems nice to live in a lodge 90 minutes flight from the nearest shop but we still haven't been pushed that far in this crazy world. Must admit that I borrowed some bear pictures from Darlene since the salmon was already gone at the falls and it therefore did not make sense to fly that far south. We did see a lot of bears ourselves in Funnel Creek just south of Iliamna Lake.
