It is only possible to walk to the lighthouse at low tide. The space surrounding the Grótta Lighthouse is a bird sanctuary and off limits to tourists between May and July. It is a superb place to watch the Northern Lights. The lighthouse is active. This aerial tour was made using a DJI Phantom 2 Quadcopter with Zenmuse Gimbal and Fatshark FPV goggles. Local fishermen in Satun, Thailand, have to haul out their net off the boat before it gets lifted out the water. In this clip you'll see about ten fishermen all working as a team as they move the net in no time.

70 boats were stirred from their sleep and iced up for the luge of big rollers, a rainstorm and white knuckle racing that took them on a tour to Charlotte Amalie and back. In the afternoon, the skies parted and the seas heaved to reveal a sunny return home.

He and 200 other people all gathered to physically lift by hand the brand new 75' sailing catamaran 'Ppalu' into the water from the beach where she was built in St Martin, Caribbean. She immediately became the fastest and most well known sailing yacht in the world, and also the biggest sailing catamaran at the time. Able to achieve speeds in excess of 25knots, Ppalu's pedigree was true from the start, and she turned heads everywhere she went and bore the covers of many a magazine. Tragically she had been very much neglected in her life as a day-charter boat in the British Virgin Islands over the past 20+ years, and was in dire need of tender love and care when Randy assumed command. He initiated "Project Ppalu" and immediately set to work on rebuilding her piece by piece over the course of the entire year. All the efforts were rewarded when she was finally re-launched in December 2013 and he and Joanne started out on their voyage of a lifetime. Unfortunately, 3 months into their sailing, tragedy struck and 'Ppalu' was holed on a reef in St Martin and promptly sank. The video outlines the subsequent salvage operation and shows clearly what is now needed to re-restore this classic sailing vessel and let her heritage live on for future generations to see. De sensibiliser le public, les professionnels et les amateurs du nautisme et de la mer aux alternatives énergétiques, à la lutte contre le dérèglement climatique et sur les pollutions marines. De promouvoir l'autoproduction énergétique en privilégiant les énergies primaires renouvelables non émettrices de gaz à effet de serre (hydro générateur, photovoltaïque, aérogénérateur). De promouvoir les transports maritimes écologiques et économes en énergie (Cargo Voile). De promouvoir les actions pour l'environnement de nos partenaires institutionnels. De rendre compte sur le site du projet de l'avancée des différentes étapes puis de la navigation pendant la course et du bilan énergétique après course. De communiquer sur la protection de l'environnement maritime auprès des élèves des écoles qui participeront au concours « décore ton voilier pour la Route du Rhum ».

A conversation with Mark the Rigger in Oriental, North Carolina. Mark replaced all of the standing rigging on our Westsail 42 Paragon. He also helped us to install a new bowsprit, step the mast, tune the rig, rebuild all our winches, and much much more before we pushed off on our 6000 nautical mile voyage from North Carolina to Iceland.
