Erik runs a charter business called Island Seed Ltd that takes guests out on the reefs, lagoon, and open sea around Koror area, Palau. His small charter specializes in personal service, instruction, and expert local knowledge, as he has discovered all the secrets of jigging, casting, and bottom fishing in his native waters since early childhood. In our clip, Erik teaches a novice fisherwoman, the fine art of jigging, much to her success. The catches of the day brought on board featured trevally, barracuda (2 species), and a giant photogenic Black Trevally. Not brought on board were sharks and several unknown creatures so large and feisty, that they insisted in taking the jigs home with them, never to be seen! Guests mostly catch and release the prize fish after the Trophy Photo, but guests can elect to keep some of the catch to enjoy a fresh fish dinner cooked to order at The Fisherman restaurant. This film starts with us leaving the river Deben however it didn't all go to plan. Pintail actually went aground and after getting herself off found she then had a horrible noise coming from the engine/propeller. Still we made it over the to river Orwell and spent a couple of nights in Woolverstone marine while Pintail organised a lift out at Fox's marina, further up the river at Ipswich. It turned out, all that had happened was the prop shaft had slid forwards slightly and the noise was coming from the rope cutter so alls well that ends well. Retired Sailor III is no longer for sale by JMYS. Snowbird 73, Retired Sailor III is a beautiful “like new” custom aluminum alloy semi-displacement trawler that is an outstanding coastal cruiser. Offered for sale by her original owners, Retired Sailor III is the culmination of a lifetime of boating. This experienced cruising couple owned several sailboats and purchased two Grand Banks trawlers before deciding to build one final yacht that would include all of the features and equipment they wanted to enjoy in their ideal boat. It was very important to them they could easily operate and maintain it on their own. After studying the available models marketed by the leading trawler companies they could not find anything suitable. Realizing that their best solution would be to build a custom boat they hired renowned naval architect, Gregory Marshall, to work out the profile and layout that they were looking for. With designs completed and being Canadian citizens, they interviewed several builders before selecting Park Isle Marine in British Columbia for construction. Red drum (aka redfish) are an exciting fish to target from a kayak whether it be sight casting these fish in shallow waters or deep jigging for huge 30 pound plus fish. Red Drum are aggressive feeders, very strong fighters, and will even explode on the surface after top water baits! If you get the chance to experience a kayak sleigh ride from one of the most popular saltwater fish in the southern United States, it's a guarantee you will be hooked for life.

The Berthon apprentices are currently restoring a West Solent One Design (RIPPLE) as an educational project on behalf of Boatyard owner Brian May. Designed and built at Berthon's Lymington based shipyard, by Brian's great grandfather H G May in 1925, the boat was originally christened DINAH, and still bore that name when she arrived here in October 2012. The work to restore RIPPLE has been progressing with apprentice Lewis Still taking directions from seasoned Mike Prince in the corner of the big blue sheds at Berthon. Lewis, a 2nd year apprentice shipwright comments on the work he has been undertaking in this rebuild. At long last I have finally tried and tested my new WATERPROOF FPV (First Person View) system on our "MARINER" Waterproof Drone.. and it worked! But whatever you do, DON'T try this with your DJI Phantom or Inspire 1 quadcopters or you will very quickly see them sink like a stone! ;) What this means is now we can fly in fully waterproof mode, and simultaneously see the view from the GoPro camera on the drone with our screen on the ground, even if the GoPro is underwater!
