The boat doesn't NEED an immediate bottom paint job but I DID need to have someone put eyeballs on the blisters. Plus, this paint will be an upgrade to the current paint. Decided to leave the blisters AS IS for now. My friend, Sam Whitt, delivered the boat for me to Barber Marina from Bear Point Marina in Orange Beach (thank you, Sam!). This video is of the haulout. They will also address: replace autopilot wheel drive, check an issue with the AC (has to be primed each time after taking the boat out), fix a leak in the shower, look into fixing the Richie compass, and a few other suggested fixes from the from the survey. Watch GTR Racing wipe out going from upright to laid over in less than 5 seconds. Continue viewing to learn what went wrong and how you can prevent it happening too you. The Chinese Gybe or Death Roll is an uncontrolled gybe, the are many factors which can lead to this which are explained in detail in the video, including some top tips to avoid it from happening to you. If you get it wrong the top of the main sail will flip from leeward to windward, as the wind fills in it will force the boat to bear away often with such force that that skipper can not correct the unwanted turn by moving the rudder. The result is an uncontrolled gybe which will often result in the boat laying flat in the water. In this case the recovery was made more difficult as we lost control of the spinnaker which made getting the boat back under control even more difficult.
