In this episode we check out Pyramid Lake, Fly Geyser, The Burning Man grounds, and Trego Hot Springs, really an awesome day in Nevada Music by Twisla (https://soundcloud.com/twislabeats) Really appreciate the support, check out the Patreon for more access and perks: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel to world. I make travel vlogs about my Vanlife, sharing vanlife ideas, vanlife tips, and travel diaries. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I live in a van, which certainly cuts costs down but still I need to make some money in order to afford to continue, currently I make 90% of my income through working as a photographer/videographer. I regularly work for Airbnb as a real estate photographer and I also take on bigger commercial contracts whenever I get the chance. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, Nikon D810, Sony RX100 iii, DJI Phantom 3 Advanced, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, Underwater Housing, tripods and lights. - What is your van? 1992 Dodge B350 Travelhome with the 5.9L TBI gas engine. I spent $3500 buying it and so far another $9000 in repairs upgrades and maintenance. - What're your plans? Travel forever. The Arctic this summer, Asia next winter, Sailboat the world after. I want to see this whole world, and I'm playing it all by ear. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live in a van with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. If I have to leave him inside the van I cover the front seats so he can't climb up and stare out the window and bark. I cover all the windows with reflectix panels I made for insulation, I turn my fantastic sucking air out on max (replaces all the air in the van every 90 seconds). I crack one window in a shaddy lower part of the van to create a consistent airflow. Other than that the fiberglass roof and insulation do a fantastic job of keeping the heat out. In colder climates I set the furnace on at minimum and close down all the windows same as for heat minus venting. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go seperate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharring my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time.

Hey hey hey I am an Australian guy trying to live on Mother Earth without killing her. Come on people, our poor earth is on its last breath and yet we still are going on the same path. So I am sailing wherever the wind takes me. Crew come and go and so do my children. I live off the land where I can and try to keep my footprint as small as possible. I tend to go to places rarely visited and have seen some amazing things so if you like a bit of adventure then follow me. Plukky https://sailingintofreedom.com/

Quelle: Wikipedia

Welcome to our first episode where we explore the Dry Tortugas National Park, our first stop on our Western Caribbean sailing adventure, where we had a little fun while waiting on a good weather window to cross the gulfstream into Cuba. In this episode, Chris geeks out on the construction and architecture of the fort while Melody just geeks out, period. Watch a sea plane do a fly-by of the boat, and see the giant grouper that made himself at home underneath our sailboat! Be sure to give us a thumbs up and leave a comment to let us know what else you'd like to see. In our last Fiberglass resin test (https://youtu.be/LKEbaiaqAOQ ) the material didn't set up. I then attempted it again at that same time and that test also didn't work. Now a few weeks later, the temperatures are warmer and we did the test again and this time it looks like success. In this video we cover what went wrong in test 2 and more importantly how we did get it to work and what the issue was. Join us in this episode to see how to lay fiberglass on the boat deck (test peice). The purpose of these tests are to determine how we will resurface our Formosa 51 deck. Epoxy or Polyester and then more importantly what process and product will we use. What was easier to work with, stronger, and more cost effective. All of these factor into this decision given the size of the job. Please show some thumbs up love on the video and share it with friends. subscribe if you haven't already and you will get notified each week when we put up a new video !! Join us on our journey as we continue to rebuild, refit and prepare our Formosa 51 Sailboat for our continued cruising journey. We have always loved the Formosa, bought one (on a bit of a whim) late in 2014, moved aboard this one right away and started to do our refit while living board. We are avid fans of Cruising Outpost and Good Ole Boat (Good Old Boat) magazines and love the ideas we get from them. If I'm still awake and my April 1st hasn't technically ended with sleep just yet, I'm still good for getting in my day 1 of #sssveda, right? ;) I read a long time ago that Jerry Seinfeld would cross out the day after it was done on a calendar if he had written anything. It helped push him through creative blocks. His goal was no long to write, it was just to keep the chain of Xs connected on his calendar. Let's see how quickly I break my chain. PS. While in Antigua we take a tour of a 1991 Tayana 52 bluewater cruiser. The boat shows extremely well and we discuss some of the features and benefits of this classic offshore cruiser. At the end of the video I discuss the merits of aft cockpit boats versus center cockpit varieties, and some of the considerations shoppers will need to come to grips with.

Today we're exploring the top 2 destinations in Eleuthera, and we're anchored just a stones throw away. It seems the popular thing to do here is rent a car in the north and drive south to explore. Since a rental car cost $80 plus $60+ for a tank of fuel we decided to forego the land experience and just sail as close as possible. Turns out the island is pretty skinny and we can anchor near many of the popular spots. We're starting just south of Harbour Island at the two most famous spots: Glass Window Bridge and Queens Bath. We hope you enjoy this little slice of paradise and the beautiful rocky cliffs of northern Eleuthera. See ya on the water, - Jason, Nikki, Cleo and Singa Enjoy our vids? Oil Change! Carrera (Porsche 911 3.2 Liter) That time of year again and Shamoo (our 1986 Porsche 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet) get an oil change. I run you through all the steps and, as usual, I have a few DIY tips/tricks/hacks to make the job a little easier and help you get better results. Oil changes are an easy way to bond with your car and give you an opportunity to poke around and look for things that may need attention. What you’ll need: • Oil Filter: MAHLE OC54 (https://goo.gl/26HMfh) • Aluminum crush washer (https://goo.gl/MxXus1) • 10-12 Qts/L oil • At least a 4 gal oil collection pan/bucket. Two are best. • 15mm socket • Torque Wrench • Optional: Silicone grease, oil filler cap gasket, quick drain, magnetic drain plug (if you don’t have one already) So, I got a question about the drain plug... Do a search on Amazon: Fumoto FG7BN Engine Oil Drain Valve (22mm-1.5) https://goo.gl/zWGxzH Just be careful about clearance... They do make valves without the extension. I even saw a right angle version: Fumoto F309L Engine Oil Drain Valve (22mm-1.5) https://goo.gl/TFLQAE Drain Plug torque specs: 70nM (51.63 ft lbs) & 42nM (30.98 ft lbs) per Porsche Technical Specifications 84-87 (1st edition 12/86) page 63 If you don’t have access to a lift be super careful if you jack up the car. Use good and strong jack stands. Be safe! Please dispose of your oil responsibly. Auto parts stores and most oil change places will take it for free. If you are looking for a really good Porsche 993 oil change video, check out Jacob’s 911% channel video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfbm4Rcc6x4&t=117s We hope you enjoyed the video. In the episode of our Mumm 36 rebuild we go to work on the boats spreaders. We explain how we cut out the tired ends replacing them with new custom machined ones. The aluminium is then clean up and repainted to slow down future wear and damage. As with many task in the rebuild be needed to take the custom approach as it was not possible to buy new items which would fit. The mast and spreader mounts were original from when the boat was built in the mid 90's so there is little to no chance for finding something new. If you enjoyed the latest boat restoration episode make sure to like and subscribe so you are notified of future videos, we have many more boat DIY lessons to share as we rebuild our Mumm 36. #boatrestoration

This video is about our experience through the cyclone Debbie in March 2017. We are a married couple, John and Manuela, who is building a catamaran in Bowen, a little town on the top of the Whitsundays Islands. At this point we had just finished the first hull and the fear of the cyclone to damage the outcome of our time and effort on the construction was massive. Find out what happen.

We have had so much rain over this Monsoon season that believe it or not the boat began to sink into the ground! A combination of soft ground and soil erosion from the rain runoff nearly had the boat falling over.... Would have been a disaster.
