She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘blar bar mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Panarea la più mondana ed esclusiva, bellissimo è passeggiare tra i suoi caratteristici vicoli ed essere inebriati dai tanti profumi della tipica vegetazione che spontaneamente cresce fra le rocce. Salina e la famosa baia di Pollara, con le piccole casette scavate nella roccia antiche abitazioni dei pescatori; un mare limpidissimo dai colori incredibili. Lipari l'isola più grande e la più turistica, assolutamente da vedere le cave di pomice. Vulcano, ormai inattivo, assolutamente da fare la passeggiata fino alla bocca del cratere ed il bagno nei fanghi caldi, ricchi di zolfo; credetemi un'esperienza unica. In this episode, I show how to open up a Giant Twist Double ebike battery. In there, you can find 35 18650 cells. Besides laptop batteries, ebike batteries are a great source for reusing 18650 cells. The advantage is that there are way more cells per battery and that it is fairly easy to open them. As a bonus, the cells come out as new. No glue, no cleaning needed.

How long is a piece of a string? What we mean by this is, it depends on the country you will be sailing in, it differs everywhere, therefore get in contact with us for a better answer! Generally speaking the accepted license is the ICC (International Certificate of Competence). You will definitely need an RYA day skipper license or an ICC license in most parts of the Med, sometimes and this is RARE an ASA 104 or a yacht club membership card will be enough, however, regulations are being enforced and it is rare that these last two will be accepted. Do you really want to leave your precious holiday hinge on the grace of a bureaucratic official? We know for sure that an ICC or an RYA Day Skipper qualification will all be sufficient, but you must take your qualifications documents with you. To gain the ICC is now a fairly simple process, and we recommend the NauticEd process. NauticEd is a dynamic online course bundle coupled with an accredited school for the practical tests that is highly respected and also accepted globally. You can do it in one of two ways. The first is a simple assessment of your theory knowledge using the NauticEd Bareboat Charter Master Bundle of online courses and then verification of your sailing competence by an RYA qualified instructor. The assessment takes one day. It is a pass/fail assessment whereby no instruction is given. The second is that you gain the RYA Day Skipper Certificate, which automatically qualifies you for the ICC. Please note that you cannot do this process with the ASA because the USA has not signed Resolution 40 and thus ASA is NOT authorized in any way to issue any government Sailing or Boating License. Their IPC is not sanctioned or recognized by United Nations. Take heart my fellow Americans, there are a few RYA channels in the USA you can use, and we can help you find them. Gain the ICC by either of: (1) Doing the one-day on-the-water assessment with NauticEd Bareboat Charter Master Bundle of online courses or the RYA Day Skipper online course. OR (2) Gain the RYA Day Skipper Certificate via the RYA Day Skipper online course and the 5 day on-the-water training at an RYA training centre. This automatically qualifies you for the ICC. In the Caribbean and what we call the Exotics, life is far easier, you will be able to take the boat if you can show experience and competence on your sailing resume. Do not leave it to chance however - we will review all of your documentation and qualifications prior to the charter to make sure you can get the boat!

Murphy bed with a barn door look to it. We built this one in the Horizontal (sideways) orientation. We kept the same height as the Queen Vertical so that full size bookcases can be used. The extra space above the murphy bed was taken up with upper bookcases. The side bookcases are what I call Buffet style where the lower section is deeper than the upper section. The upper section has adjustable shelves and a locking glass door. The lower section has a pull out drink tray and matching barn door.

Every building in the town of Pučišća on Brač island is made of local limestone.... We explore the age-old tradition of stone masonry in Croatia and Brač Island. Stonemasonry traditions run deep in this village and this art is deeply connected to the history of Brač. Stone from this very island was famously used to build many well-known buildings throughout history, including the White House in Washington and Parliament House in Vienna, to name a couple! Following in the footsteps of this age-old tradition, the only stonemasonry school in Croatia is still operating and located in Pučišća. Here students spend their days carving sculptures from Brač limestone using traditional, yet unconventional tools that would have been used by their ancestors to perform similar tasks. This is one tradition that the local people and pupils of Brač are keeping alive! Local Stories is a series dedicated to providing an insight into the quirky aspects of Croatian people, culture, and traditions!

Four examples (and a blooper) under various conditions of how I dock my 40' Bavaria sailboat while solo. These occur in relatively light winds, but I use the same techniques (frequently) in 15-20 kts at my home port of La Rochelle, France (Les Minimes). Nine days after the USS John S McCain was holed by a tanker, we tackled the Singapore Strait. The military and coast-guard presence in all sections was full on. At one point we were politely told to move over, but other ships received far more severe reprimands over the VHF radio, and were reported to the authorities. Never have we seen so many moving and anchored ships in one place. The AIS signals almost blotted out our electronic charts.
