Continuing on the motorcycle tour across Australia, east coast to west coast, we leave Birdsville and head into the desert to check out the famous Big Red sand dune. The riders all have a go at getting to the top. The truck heads off over the first sand dune and the beginning of many others. Disaster strikes when the engine mounts give way after dropping into a massive ‘wombat’ hole on the track! The fan slams into the radiator and we end up with a gaping hole and a very wobbly engine! It’s slow going from then on until we can make repairs. Gradually the riders begin to find their feet on the testing sand dunes of the mighty Simpson Desert. We enjoy a couple of isolated bush camps with breathtaking views and scenery. Hierfür fanden wir uns zur Mittagszeit am Treffpunkt von „spiceroad“ ein. Zwei sehr nette Guides stellten sich uns vor und stimmten uns auf die ersten Meter innerhalb des Linksverkehrs von Bangkok ein.
