We unstep the mast and haul our sailboat out of the water. The standing rigging replacement project will continue with the mast down while the boat is out of the water for the hurricane season. It was may goal to complete the replacement of the standing rigging with the boat in the water. Unfortunately, I reached a point where I was not able to continue the project because the mast could not be effectively secured while upright. Ah... safety first, right? Oh well - the boat is coming out of the water anyways, so it makes sense to go ahead and pull the mast down and finish the rigging project safely. Thanks for watching!! **NOW SOLD** “Braveheart” is a well campaigned Jutson 50 Racer/Cruiser, berthed in Sydney Harbour and now For Sale with YOTI. http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/jutson-50-braveheart-2018 She was first built in Western Australia by Peter Milner in 1992. In 1998 she had a full re-fit at Boatspeed Yachts just North of Sydney where her cockpit was redesigned and modified and her interior was improved with some cruising necessities added. As a regular competitor in most RSYS Inshore and Offshore events, “Braveheart” was often scratch yacht and earnt the repuataion of a very fast, comfortable and well campaigned yacht. With the addition of a Carbon swept rig she became a very easily sailed race yacht, with the ability to cruise the East Coastly quickly and comfortably. With further improvements including a Lazy Jack Bag and Furler, “Braveheart” now represents a very affordable, well built family racer cruiser. Please call Tim Vine for further information or for an inspection on Sydney Harbour.
This Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 32.1 was built by Jeanneau, France in 1994 in white GRP and commissioned the same year in Spain. She is in excellent condition despite her age, notably roomy for a boat of her size and easy to handle for sailing. She has been owned only by two owners who have well maintained her over the years. https://www.networkyachtbrokersbarcelona.com

Other Berthon Listings - https://www.berthoninternational.com/yacht-sales-brokerage/yachts-for-sale/. A proper little ship from Holland that looks the business. This Porsius Ketch Motorsailer is built of 10mm plate which is all in good shape, she has been substantially updated with this owner with lots of nice updates and her Gardner is gleaming. Perfect for family cruising or to go very much further. She is full of character and is certainly the yacht that Poirot would have bought. Brasilians always offer their instant friendship and a helping hand whenever they can! Check out our time in Paraty as we make friends with some locals who cook us local cuisine aboard Delos, show us some secret waterfalls, and attempt to teach us to slack line ;) We also explore the colonial city of Paraty and learn how the ballast street stones which now line the streets were once traded for gold and the tide rises into the streets to keep the city clean! With the ballast keel poured, faired and painted, it is now time to start building out fore and aft of it. Due to the naturally dense aspect of the ballast keel requiring such a condensed shape, deadwood pieces are necessary to fair it out into the wood keel so as to have a flowing bottom. In this video we start working on the fore deadwood and finally start seeing some glimmer of a real shape to Arabella! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Some days are worse than others, right? This day was one of those. Our sail from Hilo, Big Island to Honolulu, Oahu in Hawaii was quite eventful but not in a good way. Water in the engine, broken cleats and hatches, vents that are falling off, water in the bilge and then the big bang... We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. Follow us on our new Instagram real time at: http://www.Instagram.com/SailingSophisticatedLady Today's video starts with a covert mission run by Mr Brady from SV DELOS who's friend is flying in from the US, so they wired me up with spy gear to play the evil Captain Rick and pull a prank on the unsuspecting target.. was lots of fun! Lol Next we set sail for Carriacou to spend a long weekend away somewhere nice, but end up running head long into a north swell event that is heading south from a big storm that was brewing in the Atlantic ocean... but no point complaining, we take advantage of the opportunity and go surfing.. dinghy surfing even! :) Hope you enjoy, look forward to your comments below as always! Buried by a Volcano twice and infiltrated in World War 2 with a maze of tunnels... Welcome to Rabaul, Papua New Guinea https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we are in the city of Rabaul, Papua New Guinea. We are a little stuck waiting on a package to arrive so utilise the time explore this very interesting city. This city has survived, 2 World wars, a tsunami and two volcanoes eruptions covering the city! All in the past 100 years! What a place! During WW2 the Japanese held Rabaul and dug mazes of tunnels through out the hills of Rabaul and many are still standing today. We explore some of these caverns and scare Bonita with all the creepy crawlies. It has been a long time since we have had any friends on the boat and we were lucky to cross paths with an old mate from back home and enjoy a great day catching up. Bonita then models her PNG fashion!! We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We just arrived to Indonesia after cruising the Pacific islands, so many places to explore! 100 episodes!! Many Thank you's to all those who have watched and supported this series since the beginning, which of course was the name of the first episode, and is featured again this week together with clips from years gone bye. We also pick up from last week and sail back from the Pearl Islands to Panama city. Later I go to town and end up carrying a spear gun though a security check point for my friend Jon. We checkout some cool duty free shopping and get a couple of grumpy old men beers!! #sailing #cruising #pacificpuddlejump Thanks again for watching this episode, please give us a thumbs up and subscribe. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘blar bar mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. This episode we decided we had earned a little break so we hit the road headed for the Beautiful city of old San Juan. Along the way we stopped at a few of Puerto Rico's must see sights. After a much enjoyed break we headed back to the boat to get stuck into some maintenance work only to discover that we had a bit more work to do than we had first planned. We reached the top of Australia, Cape York! Due to the weather we couldnt get to the cape so we had to settle with the view from York Island. A bit of a disappointment for not stepping on cape york but we coudnt do anything about it! Next stop, hello Thursday Island! We arrived on the Mabo Day Parade, a day where the Islanders celebrate Eddie Mabo and what he did for Aboriginal land rights. There was a day full of pride and joy among the locals. As you wander throughout the Island there's an immediate strong religious feeling, especially on the main street where you will find several church's. But the crew were eager to climb up Green Hill to check out the key military sights including the trenches, a concrete bunker and the remains of a crashed US plane . From the top of Green Hill you get uninterrupted, spectacular views of the neighbouring islands, including Horn Island. To get into the amazing history of the Island, Thursday Island Cemetery shows its multicultural past in its full glory. Thursday Island was also the port of departure for my great friend Gonzo, from now on only with the girls. Give it thumbs a up if you liked this episode! Want more? We travel further south and take on the Peloponnisos, sometimes referred to as the Cape Horn of Greece. Its a wild ride but worth it to discover places like Monemvasia - join us for this little gem.
We're sailing on The River Orwell in Suffolk on a little known British classic . A 1970 Bowman 26, designed by Ian Anderson between 1968 -1973. Only 30 were made, owner Stefan Oloffs ran her through her paces and told us the story of these rare little yachts. Copyrights Bob Aylott, www.myclassicboat.com. Igor Lah's Team CEEREF, which went into this regatta as the leading boat after the first two events of the 2018 RC44 season, carried on its excellent form off Marstrand today, posting the fleet's best results. On a day of light winds but with big shifts and a generally unstable pattern, Team CEEREF started well, winning Race 1 and followed that with a fourth place in Race 2 and a third position in Race 3. Second overall in the sunshine on Marstrand Fjord, on a day of tight racing in this highly competitive one-design fleet, was John Bassadone's Peninsula Petroleum. Rounding out the podium today was Bronenosec Sailing Team from Russia skippered by Kirill Frolov who were making their debut in the class this season, having missed the first two events. Kontakt CHARTERBAR Yachting: CHARTERBAR Yachting GmbH & Co. 50 years after the Golden Globe race that marked the start of solo non-stop circumnavigations, a new group of sailors will set off in boats no longer than 11.3m (37ft) using the same equipment that was available to the pioneers back in 1968. The original race was won by Sir Robin Knox Johnston and together with the World Sailing Show, we look at solo circumnavigations, plot the massive reduction in record times and take a look at the second edition of the Golden Globe Race.
