Grand Cayman Cruising and Activities Guide was written during Winter 2019. We sailed down during the Christmas/New Year's Holiday. Here you will find all the activity details during our stay, in a daily log format. Our hope is that you decide to visit Grand Cayman and can use this guide to plan your own activities. Pilar spent the Winter of 2019 in Grand Cayman. We visited several times to get away from the cold rain in North Carolina. Cayman is our tropical paradise. Having visited numerous times before on our Diving adventures, we knew the island well. This time, viewing things from our catamaran, we got quite a different perspective on things. We docked in Cayman Islands Yacht Club in West Bay, on the Seven Mile Beach side of the North Sound for 4 months. We arrived January 3 (my birthday!) and while the boat stayed through April 22, we flew back and forth a few times to spend some time in beautiful, friendly, warm, sunny, safe Grand Cayman. This video covers highlights of a Girls' trip, a Just Us trip, and an adventure with couple friends. Activities include: Cayman Islands Yacht Club Morgan's Seafood Bacaro Lobster Pot Stingray City Turtle Centre Hell Starfish Point Rum Point Bio Bay East End Spott's Bay Georgetown Eden Rock Read the full blog at https://bluedotvoyages.com/cayman

We arrived in Espalmador, a popular anchorage in Formentera early May. We were surprised to not find the mooring buoys that are supposed to be used by sailors to protect the Posidonia, and had a few head scratching moments before deciding to drop our anchor in the sand. We get invited over for lunch on our friends’ catamaran, a Fountaine Pajot Saba 50, for another gourmet lunch prepared by chef Patrice, before heading to the beach for some exploration of Espalmador. The next day, we get inspected by the Posidonia ranger patrol who come to check our anchor. We take the opportunity to ask a few questions and get some clarity on the matter, but we aren’t wiser than yesterday! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** JOIN THE CREW! ** Join our virtual crew of Patrons at: https://www.patreon.com/ryanandsophiesailing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** MUSIC ** 🎶 In this video: Rafael Rico - Sunny Tuesday (Artlist) Kim Aspen - Norah’s Doorstep (Epidemic Sound) Martin Landström - Lush Living 3 (Epidemic Sound) Loving Caliber - You set my world on fire (Epidemic Sound) Russo & Weinberg (Stay) - All this love (Artlist) Gavin Luke - Simple Pleasanteries (Epidemic Sound) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** GEAR ** ⛵️Our boat: Polar Seal, 2007 Beneteau Oceanis 40, owners version (2 cabins layout). I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

How To Flush and Bleed your Brakes By Yourself! Porsche996 , Porsche 996 Turbo Brakes , Bleed Ceramic Brakes Hi Everyone, We take a little "brake" from the 911 3.2 Carrera project to bleed the brakes on the 996 Turbo. Super easy and anyone can do this by themselves. The whole process should take an hour or so. A word about the bleeder I used... The Motive Power Bleeder would not hold pressure. I even tried completely cleaning and using silicone grease, but the valve just gives way. I was able to get the job done, but there was a bit of having to pump and pump... I want to try the Schwaben Power Bleeder to see if it is any better. Voy a électrificar mis winches! ¿y te has fijado? ¿Genial, no?

Navigating the narrow channel from Glorietta Bay to Chula Vista, we encountered a somber reminder to stay alert. Chula Vista Marina and RV Park was an enjoyable experience. This extended our tour of San Diego Bay, from Shelter Island and La Playa anchorage at the north, to the southern most harbor of Chula Vista.

SUBSCRIBE ➡️ http://bit.ly/wsnsubscribe The last Medal Race of the Hempel World Cup Series Final in Marseille was certainly the most tense! Wearing the yellow bibs, Great Britain's Hannah Mills & Eilidh McIntyre led French duo Camille Lecointre & Aloise Retornaz by a single point. With neither able to be caught, it was a straight match race between the two for gold. In light winds and tricky conditions, who won the final showdown? After we dropped our guest at the end of the last episode we change our anchor place to great bird island for a snorkeltrip and some drone flying practicing. It's planned to check out later the day, but as usual in sailing life, whatever you plan it will not work. Friends of us enter the bay and we decided to check out of Antigua a day later...

I make an additional two port calls in the Hebrides before sailing across the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland. I end the episode with a ten hour passage to Viking territory: the Isle of Man. Along the way, I manage not only to run aground in Rathlin Marina, but also to visit one of the best marinas I have ever been to: Carrickfergus near Belfast.

I have received numerous requests from aspiring solo sailors to show how I hoist sails single-handed. Here is my demo of how I do this from the cockpit. There are many variations on a theme on how to do this. I make no claim that this is the best way. It works for me.
