Got our boat windows on and they look good, also as the boat driver I don't want to get wet. LOL The weatherstrip we found on Amazon worked really and we have already used it for other projects beyond this like the speaker pods and Jeep projects. I loved working this project with my wife, she has an eye for detail and really knows how to prep before painting. There was a lot of corrosion, yes aluminum does corrode, very important to wash your boat after any saltwater contact. Sunny day in R.I. sailing in Providence towards Barrington
Great to hear injured WHITE SPIRIT crew member Otis Miles-Malone is recovering in hospital. WHITE SPIRIT suffered catestrophic rig failure which started at the top of the mast. They are not sure what caused the failure. As the mast settled, crew member Otis Miles-Malone was squashed and was in a fair bit of pain. The crew implemented their medical emergency procedures and the ORCV Incident Management Team (IMT) assisted. Emergency Services were alerted. Fellow competitor AUDERE, skippered by John Cain, suspended racing to assist. AUDERE had a nurse onboard who was transferred to WHITE SPIRIT. CLOCKWORK, skippered by Bob Schahinger, also offered further assistance as they had a Paramedic onboard who was also transferred to WHITE SPIRIT. CARVALO also suspended racing and offered to assist as they had a Doctor onboard. Their assistance was not required. Other compeitors also offered to Stand By WHITE SPIRIT. After cutting their rig away, as Otis' condition was stable, WHITE SPIRIT decided to proceed back to Royals. On the way, they received further assistance from Ambulance Victoria's Helicopter Emergency Medical Serivces (HEMS) who air dropped a paramedic onto WHITE SPIRIT. Arrangements were made for WHITE SPIRIT to proceed directly to the Royals travelift area where the MFB and an Ambulance was waiting. AUDERE elected to retire from the race and shadowed WHITE SPIRT back to Royals. CLOCKWORK continued racing to Geelong with one less crew member. Cyrus cannot thank enough Jenny Wright & Dan Mestal off AUDERE, Andrew Giles off CLOCKWORK, other competitors who offered assistance, HEMS chopper, Royals and the ORCV IMT for their assistance. Nice report Dougal Beatty, thanks. The camaraderie in this sport is second to none!

Following Simon Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/finding_simon/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/findingsimon Website: http://simonstiles.com/ Asking Simon - Who are you? I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

We took off from Papua New Guinea for our 2nd longest passage - 1,500NM miles during which we will cross Great Barrier Reef via Torres Strait! We sadly sail next to Australia as it's too expensive and we don't have enough time... But I guess "you can't have it all" but we have to be happy and appreciate where we get to go. This time is quite unusual - we join Sail Indonesia Rally! We wanted to try it out; get some organized "ready to enjoy" treatment, see local dances, try their food and get to meet more sailors. And of course - help with Indonesian visas and check in process which is not simple. We arrive to Kupang - the capital of the Indonesian province of East Nusa Tenggara and we are greater by the City and the Mayor himself! That was something!!! We get to meet local people and new sailor friends, enjoy city tour and delicious foods... And we find out that our Sail Indonesia Rally is having issues and can't guarantee any of the itinerary nor anything else - like visa extension or other guidance or support... Oh well. I guess the Rally Failed just as it started... It's not our first time to sail on our own, just the challenge is - we did not do much of research on anchorages, visited places, provisioning spots and here very little people speak english and maps are famously incorrect... I guess we will roll with punches! :) Thanks so much for watching 🙏 Stay tuned as next Friday 12PM EST we release a new video 🎥 We do our best to keep you entertained and informed and if you find it fun, enjoyable or informative, consider becoming part of our team and ➡️ join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/svaquarius ➡️ want to support us, but not sure about long term commitment? Thank you for watching In this sailing solo from Mallorca to Cartagena in Spain. It was probably the easiest yet the hardest sail so far. Crazy amount of ships and yachts made it almost impossible to get any sleep in 50 hours. Hopefully, this can give you some insight about how hard it can be even though there is the best weather ever when sailing singlehanded. It does not only have to be heavy storms that make you crazy tired. Lack of sleep is just as tiring. In the end of this video I'm also sharing with you my check list for my Atlantic crossing preparations.Crazy many things to check in only 11 days. While waiting for parts to BE FREE in Panama I try to be productive and to catch up with my videos. I'm truly sorry for being so behind on my episodes. Hopefully I will find time to close the gap between where I am at the moment and the 30 episodes in between.
