En mi diccionario no encuentro palabras de agradecimientos, a presentarle al capitán doctor y su tripulación enfermeros de este velero donde nos ha hecho reunidos como nunca, agotados como Magallanes para llegar a su meta, y su tripulación que cada uno tiene su función en este velero, en el hurican que esta soplando vidas, como el cabo de horno que pocos capitánes tiene coraje para enfrentarlo , estamos al orden del capitán y a Dios, que salva nuestras vidas y que sea una elección para reunir el ser humano, que es el habitante de esta pequeña tierra, y perdonar a todos que han hecho el error involuntario, para juzgarnos y questionaros, el error es humano, la Unión hace la fuerza, lo venceremos Animo España Animo España y resto del Mundo, saldremos pronto del huracán corona. *Después del la lluvia saldrá el sol* . hakim os queremos.

I receive the repaired part of the pipe threading machine in the mail back from Keith Rucker, who brazed together the broken pieces and replaced the bushings. Finally, I need to work out an efficient way to fabricate bolts to fasten the beam shelves to the frames, and so I make a few haphazard jibs to help. I explore Death Valley while waiting on a new transmission for my car. Then I meet up with a friend @katiejo.myers for some paragliding and climbing adventures in the Owens valley. Then we troubleshoot her outboard motor and discover water in the fuel.

We finally managed to get our new dinghy!! No more waiting and planning and land travel. We lift the anchor shortly after sunrise and don’t stop until a couple hours after sunrise. It’s a long day on the water. It’s great! We cross the Messina Strait, where we get confronted with some very strangely confused seas and then blast our way towards the Aeolian Islands. The distance is a bit longer than we normally do on a day passage, and with the days that are getting shorter, we get rewarded with a beautiful sunset at sea! In this episode we travel further south, to the Big Basin Redwood Tree State Park. It is astonishing how tall and big the trees are, absolutely incredible. We did our best to put this on film, but the trees overgrown us. We had a wonderfull time in the forest. In summer it is a great place to cool down. The kids had a lot of fun playing around these giants. We are thankful to nature to show us these wonders. We left the forest and drove to Oceano Dunes where we had a great afternoon driving the car into the sand. Sometimes it was a little exiting, we were lucky and did not get stuck in this huge place. It was a fantastic day. Sick with flu or Coronavirus? Probably the flu that I caught on a flight from Montreal to Guadeloupe, as the Doctor in St Martin pronounced. I self-isolated during the sail from Guadeloupe to St. Martin, and then stayed alone in an apartment while Pierre took care of BioTrek on the hard where it was hauled out in Philipsburg, St. Marteen. Time for new bottom paint after over 6000 nm! Once Biotrek was in the water again, we sailed to an isolated anchorage in St. Martin near Caye Verte in Orient Bay and did not go ashore to enjoy restaurants, but relaxed on board. We took the paddle board to the deserted Caye Verte to investigate the masts that we could see from our anchorage. We found a fairly intact, grounded sailboat. Curious, it did not appear to have a hole in the hull. Does anyone know anything about this boat? We did not go aboard to look inside. After 2 weeks in St. Martin and with haul-out complete, we made a decision to get to the Bahamas to wait out the Coronavirus pandemic, in case boarders started closing in the Caribbean, as was happening in Europe. We checked out of St. Martin at immigration at Marigot Bay,, and headed to Puerto Rico. Our trip to Puerto Rico will be shown in the next episode. Produced with CyberLink PowerDirector 17. Due to our delicate situation, and the different problem solving stages that we had to go through in the last 6 day, we wanted to share our experience with you. This is a special edition, we hope to be back on track soon and continue our regular videos and sailing adventures around the world. We can be considered as lucky because we are already isolated on our sailboat. That is one extremely positive point, but due to this same situation we had to manage other problems as weather condition and water quantities on board during this week. We decided to try to sail back to our home country, France. First step was to pass the Portuguese border before it’s closure. Unfortunately weather conditions didn’t let us do so, and we managed to find shelter in the river of Guadalquivir. The next morning we reached out to the nearest harbor, but they refused to accept us due to emergency state. Our water tanks were on 1/3 and with baby Tara, we needed to find a safer place than staying where we were. We waited the wind to be favorable and on the 3rd day of lockdown we navigated 3 hours further back to Cadiz. We were relieved, they we’re still open and accepted to have us. We had shelter and water, we now had to find food and establish a protocol to break the chain of the infection and create a safe zone inside the boat. Капитан, он же папа, он же «Я так до конца и не понял, что это было. 🙂» Спокойно стояли на якоре два катамарана и пять яхт. Никого не трогали. Так и думали провести карантин. Ведь, казалось бы, что может быть безопаснее для окружающих, чем стоящая в нескольких кабельтовых от берега яхта? Но проснувшись вчера утром, мы оказались только вдвоем с соседним катамараном. Яхты куда то пропали. Сосед высказал предположение, что им не понравилась небольшая ночная качка. После чего сам ушел в марину по каким то своим делам. А у старпома уже очень давно был назначен прием у дантиста. На всякий случай она ему позвонила и уточнила - разрешается ли посещать стоматологов во время карантина? После чего я отвез ее в порт и вернулся на Манюшку. Кстати, как ни странно, но карантин не касается парикмахерских (потому что многие пожилые люди привыкли, что им голову моют в парикмахерских) и прачечных (у многих дома нет стиральных машин). Сижу, читаю спокойно в кокпите, Буська мучает гамак, пытаясь на нем перевернуться. Вдруг к нам подходит большой корабль береговой охраны. И требует от меня подняться к ним на борт. Сажусь в тузик, подъезжаю, залезаю к ним. И мне сообщают, очень злым голосом, что все яхты под иностранными флагами обязаны немедленно покинуть территориальные воды Испании. Все мои аргументы, что мы тут очень давно, что один член экипажа на берегу у врача, и «куда же мы пойдем?» наталкиваются на убойный аргумент - это не наши проблемы, а ваши, вышел такой закон и вы обязаны ему подчиниться. Мы сопроводим вас за пределы двенадцатимильной зоны. Я, пытаясь сохранять спокойствие, говорю, что не могу выполнить этот приказ по независящим от меня обстоятельствам. Они совсем злятся и угрожают, что прямо сейчас меня арестуют. Тут на палубу гордо выходит Буська в платье принцессы. Один из гвардейцев спрашивает - на борту еще есть взрослые? Потом они долго куда то звонят и о чем то переговариваются. И в конце разрешают зайти в марину на 12 часов, что бы пополнить запасы и забрать второго члена экипажа. Весь час, пока шел к марине, они шли рядом, без остановки командуя - быстрее, быстрее. Очень забавно это выглядело. Несерьезно как то. Ну вот, пришли, встали. Маринер сфотографировал лодку и паспорта, сказав, что от него этого потребовали гвардейцы. Стоим. Никуда я конечно не пойду. Яхты, видимо, узнали что-то про запр??т стоять на якоре. А мы это пропустили. Более того, мы и сейчас не можем этот запрет найти. В общем не понятно. 🙂

We get an anchorage right in front of a WATERFALL, swim in Cassel Lake and soak in the beauty of Desolation Sound! Fuel up and get some groceries at Refuge Cove. Enjoy exploring Von Donop Inlet and probably mispronounce the name ;) Desolation Sound is so far our favorite place to cruise, a place we can disconnect, enjoy nature and not worry about time too much! Stay tuned for the next episode as this is probably the best day I have ever had sailing in the PNW! Hint: We see WHALES!!!

Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Leider müssen wir unseren Saisonstart verschieben. Unser neues Boot steht in Norditalien an Land. Wegen der Coronakrise sind Italien und ganz Europa derzeit abgeriegelt und wir sehen aktuell keine Möglichkeit zu unserem Boot zu gelangen. Aus diesem Grund bleiben wir länger auf La Palma als geplant. Dennoch möchten wir kurz berichten welches Boot wir uns gekauft haben und wie es bei uns weiter gehen soll. Wir wünschen allen, dass dieser Ausnahmezustand bald vorbei ist und wieder Normalität eintritt.
