John and I left Texas as the corona virus started to sneak attack our country, When we returned, the Grocery stores were cleared, Cities were closing down, Food and Beverage is by delivery only and our social Medias were being blasted by the reality of this dangerous strand. Its all so overwhelming and I don't think John and I could have picked a better time to cast off the lines and head out to sea. We have been planning for this weekend for two years and then this crazy apocalypse/ pandemic is a very interesting way to start our adventure. The Full video will be out in a couple months. Believe it or not, this ONE TINY little hose clamp is all that’s keeping our boat from potentially sinking to the bottom. It’s part of our centerboard operation, and unfortunately there’s not much we can do to improve it, except to ensure the clamps and hoses are in good condition. So we tear the whole thing apart and make sure all the bits & pieces are up to snuff. It is day 8 of our Atlantic Crossing onboard, and although it took us a week, we are well settled. Around noon, we catch sight of our first ship since departing Mindelo and we are LITERALLY on a collision course. With the boat lifting onto the hardstand last week we commence our boat works which predominately included doing some repairs around the prop shaft, sanding back the keel removing rust spots and filling and fairing, epoxy, prime underneath and finish off with some anti foul. While we were doing all this we replaced all our sea cocks with glass composite Tru Design.
