The Agincourt ribbon Reefs had a second coral spawning and it was magical. At the Quicksilver platform at Agincourt 3, our Marine Biologist, Russell Hore predicted the December coral spawn would be more spectacular, as the waters had been cooler in the lead up to the November spawn. Russell Hore, Quicksilver Reef Biosearch Manager said “While the Agincourt Reefs experienced a coral spawning in November, we always believed that the main coral spawn would happen after the full moon in December.“ Two of Quicksilver Reef Biosearch marine biologists, Dr Glen Burns and Graham Carroll, spent the night on Agincourt 3 last night (16 Dec), hopeful that the corals would spawn. “The current water temperature on the edge of the outer reefs was perfect for coral spawning, so we were pretty confident.” And better they were, with one of the better coral spawning events witnessed in the last decade. “We witnessed the branching staghorn coral, shrubby corals and a magnificent plate coral spawning. We were privileged to record this once yearly event at Agincourt Reef.” said Dr Burns The spawning is likely to continue for the next two nights.

Sailing Fiji Fabulous Fulaga Eastern Lau Fabulous Fulaga - The Jewel Of The Eastern Lau We make an overnight sail from Susui towards to Fulaga to ensure we arrive at the right time to enter the narrow pass into the lagoon. We have a beautiful trip and conditions to go through the pass are perfect. We anchor in a stunning spot , close to the local village, in order to present our sevusevu. As usual, this must be done in order to get permission from the chief to move freely around the island. Each boat is allocated a local 'host' , who becomes your 'go to ' person each time you enter the village. Our host was the wonderful Tai, who was great fun and very helpful. Of course, before we could start to have fun, we have to fix our windlass. Boat jobs in paradise..... Luckily our friend Peter is an electrician , so he and Rob make quick work of the job. We then make the most of the fabulous weather and begin to explore every inch of this amazing lagoon. We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you. In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve. We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle. So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles. We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second. We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel! We have a less than ideal anchoring experience on our first night in Mykonos, Greece when the Meltemi winds fill in on us. Stuck on a lee shore in 30-40 knot winds, we're forced to stand anchor watch until dawn. But when we try to seek refuge in the marina, things take a weird turn, with the marina more-or-less trying to turn us away even though it's half empty. But the Mykonos nightlife provides a good distraction.

Anchoring is always a different challenge. Conditions always vary, especially in Cape Verde. And in this case Tarrafal do Santiago. There was swell and many rocks below the surface and not much sand for the anchor to stick. But we managed, and thanks to a wonderful family of Pirates, we were able to go ashore a few days. We went to visit Praia, Cape Verde's capital city. It's not recommended to anchor in the bay of Praia. Even the police say it's best to leave your boat in Tarrafal and go to the city by car. Which is what we did. A two hour ride across the entire island from North to South. The weather was amazing so the views of the dramatic landscape were spectacular. Once in Praia, we rented an apartment thanks to our friend Carlos in an upscale suburb of the city and visited the city's center. Once again, Cape Verde never ceases to amaze me. The REALITY of living on a BOAT :: Insider look | 88 | Beau and Brandy Sailing Could YOU do it? Could you live fulltime on a sailboat? When we started out thinking about getting a sailboat, we knew we needed to downsize A LOT. But what we didn’t think about was what it was going to be like to actually LIVE on the boat. How different was it going to be? What was it going to be like to eat, sleep and well poop in the boat. We have spent the last 3 years living aboard and have figured most of it all out. Living in this 35 foot boat with just the 2 of us and Oona, our salty dog. BUT then you add 2 more people to the mix and it highlights how its different, but the same as landlife… with it being WAY smaller. Nik, beau’s brother and his girlfriend Sam come to visit us and we get to show you what its like from their perspectives on what its like to live on a sailboat with 4 people and a dog. #sailingsaoirse #tinyhome #liveaboardsailboat big love, beau, brandy, and our salty dog, oona ____________________________________________________________________ Like what you see and want to pitch in for our next video 🎥 upload: http://bit.ly/one-time-donation-bb Want even MORE? Making our way down the coast of Norway we run into a few less than ideal sailing conditions. One day we're stuck in fog that gives us 75 ft of visibility, and the next day we run into a menacing thunderstorm as we approach our anchorage. With all the small outer lying islands and rocks that run along the coastline of Norway, we're constantly checking our radar and using multiple charts to make sure our boat stays exactly where it needs to be. Much love from Norway! This episode is sponsored by SiOnyx Aurora: https://www.sionyx.com/ Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons.
